Fair enough.

Agreed on the result.

Sounded like a shocking game, we're stuttering towards the end of the season and frankly I can't wait to see the back of it now. Nothing to play for other than pride and the opportunity for players like Nabil to get a bit of experience before next year.

I agree about wanting the season to end but I wouldn't call it 'stuttering'. We came back fantastically on Saturday and we've also come back tonight and we've seen some good performances from squad players like Keehan and Shariff. My glass is half-full. :)
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

Just got back from the game (as I live in Scunthorpe). Certainly did have that end of season feeling about it, with neither team having ought to play for. Well deserved point, both teams seemed to cancel each other out. Nab's goal was a great lob over the keeper, and he also made a couple of jinking runs in what was a good performance from him. Apart form that, didn't really create a lot. Huke had a free header saved, sharif had a shot easily saved, but the defence did well second half, especially Huke, who I thought played well throughout. Also got to mention Evans. Mixed bag from him. Punched the ball straight to their player for Grimsby's goal and some of his kicking was wayward, but he made a great save early in first and second half and caught well in the second half too. Dunno what happened at half time, I think one of the Grimsby fans had a go at Justin, he had a go back, and then there was an 'altercation' between the two benches. Ended with our players going back in the tunnel and re-emerging 5 mins later :? Anyway, credit to the 21 fans who went, and a well dug in performance from the lads. Onwards and upwards to Gateshead :D

It looked being a waste of petrol money for the first quarter, but it certainly livened up in the 20 minutes before the interval - and during the interval too.

JE was asked to speak to the referee after the incident when the players came back out - which is why the players went back in. The odd thing was that there didn't seem to be any match official witnessing what went on - and apart from the Grimsby Chairman, there was little sign of anyone from Grimsby, despite the fact the Diamonds team had come back out on time.

There was then a tension throughout the second half - Max Porter made his feelings known to one of their joint managers at one point when he stopped a quick throw-in, and the fickle locals were on their team's back by the middle of the second half.

Nabil looked a real prospect in the pre-season games this season, but I'd agree that his loan spells have helped prepare him for his first team introduction. Oddly enough JE will start having the opposite problem in the next two games, if PC-H, Ryan Charles and Sam Smith all get back to fitness, and he has to perm three strikers from 6.

A Grimsby fan has just tweeted at me to say Az is an incredibly dirty player after last night... not an accusation I'd have Az down for.

Dunno where he got that from, I certainly can't remember him doing anything dirty, during the game anyway. Unless he did something during the half time arguments.

Unfortunately, the Mariners have been at sea far too long and their vision is totally blurred. You get used to a lot of partisan support in the home stands, but Blundell Park must be one of the worst grounds in the country. It really was quite hilarious to hear some of the comments that were made during the match, and with such a blinkered vision of the game, it is a wonder they are not all suicidal at the final whistle.

Unfortunately for the lad he's had a terrible time with injurys over the past two seasons, which make it seem he's stuttered a bit
