Creditors' meeting

Any business can get into financial straits especially in trying times like these but for anyone to turn up to a meeting that they had called with a presentation such as you describe is completely unacceptable in my view. I hope that you and all the other creditors get every last penny that you are owed.

What a joke. This was an opportunity to get some of these creditors (partially) onside. Make them sympathise with our situation and to stop them trying to wind the club up.

Insted the meeting takes place with key people missing, and the people that do show up have an inexcusable lack of information.

What were they hoping to achieve by holding this meeting? They don't seem to have any idea what to do at all. I admit I've had my doubts about their "integrity" but now I'm beginning to think they are just outstandingly incompetent.

I'm thinking that as well to be honest, a couple of the replies I've got to questions from Steve haven't looked anything like what you would expect a CEO to produce. What a waste of everyone's time.

Don't know the scale of the problem, or just won't say? How the hell, if we were truly debt free when these guys took over,have we got into this state in such a short space of time?

Its a joke to call a meeting like this and not have the facts to hand, an utter shambles and they should be totally embarrassed.

I had hoped to hear that they had got a grip of things, that although we're obviously deep in the brown stuff, they had some ideas about how to get out of it, some thoughts on how to address the balance, some suggestions to put to the creditors - alas it sounds as though they're clueless and came to the meeting totally unprepared.

Some people "talk the talk", others "walk the walk" - if talking were an Olympic sport I'm sure these clowns could win gold for us !!!

Utterly depressed tonight, I feel like my club is slipping away, so sad on a day when we should be celebrating our youth team's success !!

The only good thing which will come out of this sorry state is that they will no longer be in charge of the club, I feel desperately sorry for Gill and all the other creditors who have done everything in good faith.

Fantastic world class incompetence from the CEO to turn up to a meeting he arranged and not have a clue about anything. Ive got a vision of David Brent standing at the front, did he try to do a dance?

On the plus side I preferred it when Diamonds were in the then Beazer League, the higher the league the less fun it became, looks like we'll be heading that way and below very soon.

One suspects the meeting today, as shambolic as it appears to have been, was nothing more than yet another delaying tactic.

I do now also question other motives.

Have the current directors purposefully orchestrated or assisted this situation in its development? Improvements having been made to the ground (clean up of facings, drainage done, and if I am correct, all the catering facilities/snack bars upgraded), stocks and supplies topped up all presumably at a cost to suppliers.

Now lets fold the company, no-one owed gets a penny and a nice cheap pre-pack administration deal arranged for someone else to come in, old or new perhaps, to run the FC again in a refreshed stadium/facilities at minimal outlay?

I am pretty sure the trail will become clearer, but oh to have been a fly on the MD's and Board Room walls over the recent past.....

If the situation is as bad as it appears, you can forget any chance of there being a club to play at any level.

Gill - how many people were there at the meeting, and do you know which businesses were represented?

My wife went to the meeting as we are owed ,it seemed like an exercise to get some more borrowed time,which many of the creditors are getting sick of no concerete answers to how any payments will be resolved,as i cant see much evidence of any income.Many of the creditor are now feeling the effects financially(which affect my family) and i for one feel i cant be bothered to support and help them ,you just seem to get used ,the more you help the more they expect!
How can he ask for ideas at this late stage we just want payment.

Sorry but don't know how many were there as I sat at the front but everyone had to sign in.

I do know there were representatives from: Queensway Publishing, Taskforce, Willow Electrical, J H May (I believe), MDH Teamwear, 3 Youth Team Landladies, 1st team landlord, Gary Calder, First Team Scout and Keith Cousins.

The Chairman of Kiddy was there as the Club owe them money and he gave some good input and advice to Mr Beasant having recently had a financial crisis themselves.
