Re: can someone clear something up
I have my own thoughts and opinions on the ground ownership, why KC walked away when he did and what happens and who gets what if the club goes into liquidation. I won't go into it though as this is not the place to be doing it.
I'm sure people have said on here that the Beasents have until 2013 to buy it off KC or something but after that KC is free to do whatever he wants with the land?

Firstly, IIRC, there is a convenant in place that protects football, or sport in general, in the stadium for at least the next hundred years or so.RiK2006 wrote:....... but after that KC is free to do whatever he wants with the land?
With regard to the remaining part of the 22 acres surrounding the stadium KC, or indeed any future owner, would have to satisfy the local authority i.e. East Northants Council that any proposed new development is within the requirements of the local plan. In this respect Irthlingborough Town Council and the general community would have a big say.
I understand the 2013 date triggers a payment to Griggs if any land is sold off or developed for commercial purposes but I can't remember the exact details or amount payable to Griggs contained in the clause.
In short, KC or any future owner, would certainly not be free to do whatever he wants with the 22 acres.
