Re: IS THE YOUTH ABOUT TO END?
Àt the moment the moment the u16s the scholarships are to go ahead i have heard.
Re: IS THE YOUTH ABOUT TO END?
I think to play in the conference youth alliance the club would need to survive before scholarships could continue. So it may be in hope than desire.
What about other age groups are on offer or are all other ages scrapped.

Re: IS THE YOUTH ABOUT TO END?
Look, WE are not responsible for this godawful mess, so we know exactly how he feels. Pissed off and frustrated as hell, so PLEASE bear with us. The Trust can step in and run the youth set-up and it was said that can happen all the way up to the 19 year olds - but we're waiting to see if we;ve a first team before we can commit to the level of football - this is NOT our decision at this moment in time. The problem is the CLUB, it was they who allegedly have told them they were not needed and have not paid the coaches, NOT US. No doubt your son showed fighting spirit whilst playing for the team? Well, now it's your turn so join us. Read my avatar motto - force is greater with union.mooey wrote:Yesterday was a very sad day for us. Our son has been coached by R&DFC since he was 6 years old. Through the reigns of Geoff Harrop, Greg Broughton, Paul Driver and latterly Mark Starmer. He is now 16. All he has wanted to do was be a pro football player. He knew that it would be difficult. He has stuck with R&D throughout even when been aproached by "biger" clubs. He was offered a full schollarship earlier in the year. Now, as I type, there is nothing.
Mark Starmer has been fantastic over the last few months. His loyalty to the boys and parents can't and should not be questioned. How do you think he feels at the moment?

Re: IS THE YOUTH ABOUT TO END?
a youth system is about many things, good football, good coaching and a good club to aspire to.
Who would run it all volutarily?
We at present do not have a first team for the lads to look upto or aspire to.
A lot of the lads I am hearing through the grapevine are already trialing at Northampton Foxes, K*ttering Town, Peterborough etc. Maybe some of the coaches will move to these clubs also.
Hopefully we can sort it as we need a future but I am unsure it can be done via just volunteers.

Re: IS THE YOUTH ABOUT TO END?
The current youth as also pointed out by pressman in one of his posts is self funded and paid for by the parents/sponsors the club do not fund it,one of the reasons the youth were struggling to pay things was tht when the bank accounts were frozen the youth account had funds in it,as the account had a rfdc name connected to it hence if some one came along to the bank and said we want our cash it was taken out of an account that had cash in it ie;the youth's.
What youu may find with other local centre of excellance is the distance they travel to play an hour of football,i know ktfc travel as far as newcastle etc which as you can imagine is over a 12hr day the boys must be knackered ,ok at 15&16 but not at 9&10

Re: IS THE YOUTH ABOUT TO END?
What a mess, thanks I understand how it works more now
one of my friends lads plays for KTFC, in fairness of fixtures they I believe have also had Fulham and Everton etc visit them so its not all one way traffic plus they appear to enjoy their days out as they are great experiences even for a younger player.
Plus I think the distance is only for special fixtures, lots of local ones I believe also

Re: IS THE YOUTH ABOUT TO END?
my lad is at K*ttering.......but is a season ticket holder at diamonds
he has been there about 7 weeks on trial.....halifax home, boston away, team gb home, wigan away, notts county away, tournament at home so not too bad ,the wigan game all age groups went on a coach........why cant the youth set up an account under the supporters trust banner, then when/if it all settles down ,transfer acccounts back under the wing of nene park

I think we will find that should this mess get sorted then the account for the youth may well be put into an account thats connected to the trust in some form.
