Naming potential Investors

Post by RiK2006 »

FFS how stupid can people be. I heard names ages ago but decided against posting in some sort of "ha, I heard a name that you didn't" ego trip.

Delete or edit all posts mentioning names of potential investors, stop posting links. This might not make any difference but this is NOT the time to speculate. Lets wait and see.

It's pointless gagging people on this i'm afraid. The rumour (and it is still a rumour) began on Poppynet, not here. It'll be all over other forums in no time.

What harm is it doing, if you mention a name?

The connection there might be Beasant, does Dave Beasant not work for suspected investor - could Dave be related to RDFC Beasants - could be its a small world!

Yep, and two of their GKs are Besants aswel, so I presume atleast one of those are the son of Dave.

Hmmmm.... it's worrying how all the facts seem to add up on this one. Relations with "a certain Spanish club" seem to be at a bit of a low ebb and it wouldn't surprise me if "you know who" was looking for a way into UK football... and what better way than at a club with unrivalled training facilites at any comparable level.

The problem is: it's all very well taking over at a tercera liga club (I'm not sure of the attendance figues for these regional sides but I would imagine it's of the order of a couple of hundred) with semi-pro local players and quite another at a full time club with 1000+ supporters.

I'm not sure that 'saving' the club in a Mystic Meg fashion would be so desirable from a supporter's point of view. Yes it would maintain the league status, but at what cost? For example, would our local youth players still have the suport of the club? Also, presumably there would still be Beasants involved and look how well that's gone for us so far.

Time will tell I suppose, but I feel pretty negative about the whole thing.

until it has been announced i suppose it is still hypothetical, but our options could well have been no club or academy club, i'll take the academy!!, of course there are lots of questions as to why it might not work, but it's pretty innovative and i would just be pleased to have a club!

AndyKirkup - no-one can really comment on speculation until the full facts are known. But i'd rather have a club with new people involved than no club - because that is the option we are facing.

If people don't come in - we are gone, cap-put!

Keep the faith AK!

I very much doubt we will ever know the full facts, whatever happens.

I understood that there was a fair amount of energy/enthusiasm with regards to setting up a 'phoenix' club if this one goes kaput?

As for new people - part of my point is that the Beasant's have lost the confidence of everyone involved with the club through their actions, particularly the long list of people that they've failed to pay for all this time. A lot of people have publicly stated that they don't want to be involved in a club which is still owned by the Beasants.

As you point out though, there is very little point in commenting on speculation - but that's the only news we're getting these days, speculation. Hopefully on Monday we should finally know something :?
