If You...

Post by DustCobb »

fancy watching football next season......

http://www.ntfc.co.uk/page/SeasonTicket ... 40,00.html

;) Couldn't resist, sorry :)

Looks bleak for you lot now doesn't it, have to be honest and say i genuinely don't care for your club and will be happy to see you go......however you can't help but feel a bit of sympathy towards the genuine fans of the club who put time and effort in and devote all their spare time to the club, if there were more fans like you then maybe you'd have had a chance of saving the club.....seems like that is the problem, not enough people care, lots of people may have turned up to your initial meeting, 500 wasn't it? But who actually helped....bar donating a few £ each?

RIP Rushden & Diamonds.

Like im going to just move on to the next nearest club if/when we die. Doesnt work like that!! I have only never supported RDFC and we only have one club. I would rather now work another game on live football in my life then become a supporter of any other club

Personally I'm going to do an Irish Diamond and start supporting Cobh Ramblers, who play in the Republic of Ireland A Championship. Mainly because of the name though.

Oh and as for the OP, slight lack of class, do you really need to come on and tell us you'll enjoy our demise?

Is there a football team in Northampton? Thought it was just a Rugby town.

:D

I'd love a beer but sadly i'm at work.

On a serious note, would any Diamonds fans support another team if/when the lights are turned off at Nene Park? Obviously not NTFC or KTFC but would you watch another pro team or would you just watch local amateur football?

I'll never watch another football club, maybe my village team on a Sunday morning as I wander around to get my papers, but I'll never invest my heart in a club like I have done Diamonds. I'll watch Bedford Blues RU occasionally for my sports (and ale) fix - I've lost total faith in the way football is run in truth, right from the top to the bottom it seems rotten to the core and full of people in it for self interest wanting to make a quick buck if they can.

I'm sure Knobblers and Ploppies will go into wankfest mode if we die, but they should be looking over their shoulders, times are hard and will get harder - but I have enough class about me to not wish them to go bust................just suffer a little ;)

We may still get a stay of execution and who knows, we may still have new owners by the end of the week if the Conference Board truly want to help us, but I'm a realist and know that we're spitting into the wind, we don't seem to have many friends in the world of football and many would like to see us die and go away, I think a few of them reside on the Conference Board. It seems strange to me that if a rescue package is in place (according to Reality who I know and trust !!) and money has been put up as security to back that offer, that we won't be allowed a stay of execution until at least Wednesday - but this is the Conference.........we've no hope have we??

The past 18 years for me have been a total blast, I've loved following the club and met so many great people, some who will remain lifelong friends - I'll be gutted if the club folds and I think football will be the worse for allowing a great little club like ours fold, watch out for many more as the financial times get worse.......although I guess its a matter of who you are and what friends you have on the Conference Board as to whether or not you get a reprieve or support to get through any difficulties.

I do feel like our last chance has passed today, I await news later/tomorrow with a heavy heart, I fully expect us to be relegated over the weekend and wound up on Monday, I wouldn't wish that on ANY football club and its supporters (apart from MK Dons of course ;) )

If it does come to the worst, I hope we manage to have a messageboard wake to celebrate the passing of our great football club.
