Re: Cluedo
5) We had the chance to keep our fate in our own hands and we gave it away. It all comes down to that unfortunately.
Anyway we should now be looking forward and setting up a phoenix to make sure that the best bits about our club remain.

You can't really blame the conference IMO. The club has been destroyed internally, KC and the Beasents destroyed the club. Yes we didn't have the greatest fan base, but we seemed to manage (albeit it wasn't easy) in previous seasons.

Re: Cluedo
but surely it was hobsons choice when the trust owned everything.
give it all to kc or you don't have a club.
we all wanted a club, we had no choice.

Re: Cluedo
Anyone (Formic etc.) correct me if I'm wrong here but 'administration was a few hours away' but we could have taken administration and the 10 point hit, gone down into the Conference (which we did anyway) and keep the ground and everything. We'd have had to pay a CVA but we would have been able to restructure and stay in control of our own destiny.therushden wrote:but surely it was hobsons choice when the trust owned everything.

Re: Cluedo
That might have been the case - the Trust were more worried about the administrators then letting a "local club" getting their hands on the assets - quite ironic really ! The following words were issued at the time (Jan 2007 or thereabouts) after they were criticised for lack of communication after telling us all was rosy four months earlier:-Sara Pascoe wrote:Anyone (Formic etc.) correct me if I'm wrong here but 'administration was a few hours away' but we could have taken administration and the 10 point hit, gone down into the Conference (which we did anyway) and keep the ground and everything. "So when you consider all this, it is not surprising we have ended up were we are today. If any of the information I have given to you today had got out in the last four months, the club would have gone into administration, ten points would have been deducted and we would have had no control over who took over our football club. Personally I think it is a price worth paying for communication to be criticised if it means that we have ensured that it is Rushden and Diamonds that is playing at Nene Park rather than some other local side in desperate need of a new home! Re: Cluedo
Can someoe clarify one point. I am assume the news near the end of the meeting we are no longer affiliated to the Northants FA means the Appeal and potential Japanese Investor talked about by KC was irrelevant and meaningless. Or am I missing something?
If this was essential to keep the Appeal process and potential investor interested would KC minding the Football Club interests as he did last week have made representations to the local FA and protected the slimmest chance of keeping R & D going.
Of course Mr ladak waiting in the wings (or in the Board Room) with a nice tidy ground to move into would have expected no less having spoken so elloquently on our behalf at the Conference stich up.

Re: Cluedo
Quite correct Sam, as we are not affilliated to the Northants FA, then we are no longer recognised as a Football Club, however we are still a member of the FA and therefore should have some recall with them! KC was against an appeal, and to be fair it's a very long shot, but at the moment we don't have much else to work with.Sam Gregory wrote:Can someoe clarify one point. I'm too gutted to fight at the moment, although this bottle of wine is helping the pain, a little.
Let's not pee KC off 2 much, we might want Pitch 2 at Nene Park to start AFC Rushden & Diamonds in 2012!!
