Re: The greatest ever game
The 2-0 away win at Plops is my fave match ever. Established Darby as a true Diamond legend. Fave draw was the 3-3 draw with QPR when we looked dead and buried until Lowe came on as sub, got us back level and almost won it at the end. Best defeat was the 1-0 away fa cup at Luton. 1800 Diamond fans never stopped singing and we outplayed them, but somehow lost

Re: The greatest ever game
I remember that QPR game quite vividly. My Dad, his mate and my Granddad are all QPR fans so they came in the home end. There were a few other QPR fans as well but it was all good natured. They all went very quiet after the 80th minute though.
My favourite games are Cobblers, the 3-0 away win at K*ttering, the 1-0 away at K*ttering and being told to celebrate by Dale, Oxford semi-final (even though we lost), that 1-0 win at Oxford on Sky, that absolute pasting we gave Colchester in League One, Leyton Orient. Ermmm that's all I think think of at the moment. Most of the last wins in the League were quite good as well, just for all the tension of only having a goal's lead and knowing that we couldn't hold onto them.

R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

Re: The greatest ever game
For me some early games that I went to with my dad (I was 14, my mum and dad had just split and going to Diamonds was great for us bonding with each other. Shame that that opportunities been ruined for other parents with their kids although I will be supporting the Phoenix side and hope it takes off.)
Anyway Diamonds 3 Altrincham 2 from 95/96 - we were 3-0 up at half time and had to hold on at the end! Garry Butterworth scored a screamer before being sent off! This was the last game of the season and only my second trip to NP having seen the 1-0 win over Halifax the week before. I was hooked and knew i had to go back for the next season!
Diamonds 5 Farnborough 5 from 96/97. Fozzie had 4 in his home debut and a young Paul Underwood scored as well. Needless to say the defending was terrible and I think this was the last game Andy Peaks and Steve Cherry played for us.
Maybe they don't stick out in the memory of he average diamonds fan but they were games where I got to spend time with my old man at a time where my life was a lot more simple (still at school, living at home no bills etc!)
I did enjoy k*ttering away when we won 3-0 as well! What a great season that was!

Re: The greatest ever game
K*ttering away in the Conference winning season was unforgettable, as was the 3-2 win at home to the Wobblers, but my greatest ever game was Rochdale away in the League 2 play offs...sang until I was hoarse...the low point of the own goal...coming back to secure our place at the Millenium Stadium...singing all the way back down the M1. Didn't stop smiling for a week!
