Unrelated to the ground, Thrapston is also considerably further away from Rushden or Irthlingborough than Raunds is.
Lets not run before we can walk BR. I don't think people realise what a MAJOR achievement (and huge amount of work) it would be to get a phoenix club playing in the UCL Premier at any stage. If we ever get there, then we can look at future plans.

Please don't take the above as negativity, but it is a long road from here and people should be aware of that!

Even more importantly, do they have an excellent selection of Cabernet Sauvignon?

And, is their wine cellar well stocked?

These are important question :)

Dave, I'll be a bit miffed if the youth are playing under K*ttering's banner and our trust is providing funds. Seems a bit of a crossed purpose there.

This might be a red herring, but shortly after I got involved with Match Previews / Reports for the club five years ago, I had an email from Helen Thompson advising that the club's registered brand name was "Rushden & Diamonds" and not "Rushden and Diamonds" - and have stuck with that structure ever since. Perhaps this might mean we could use "Rushden and Diamonds" with less of an issue.

(before any smart alec points out there is one key place on the OWS where the "and" is used, this was done by the Perform Group in error, and it couldn't be changed.

I think if that's the case we should call an EGM of the Trust and get this stopped as soon at the K*ttering Town Trust can take over - it shouldn't be an issue if it is "largely self-funding".

Why should we give our hard earned cash to them? We'll need it more than K*ttering or Corby - I'm sorry but the only alternative is to leave the youth set-up behind as we'll most likely see no benefit from it. Trust me, I watched that youth set up and had many many happy hours watching players develop, I even took a day off work to watch them win the league. They're not ours anymore so why give it money?
What's your alternative?

The alternative could be to affiliate with Corby with an agreement that a sell on clause was put in place for any player that signs on professionally for them from the system so that if that player was sold on a percentage goes back into the system and also the phoenix side.

Just an idea off the top of my head.
