KTFC Statement
KTFC Statement
There are some interesting revelations if you read between the lines of the Official statement on the KTFC site - http://www.ketteringtownfc.co.uk/story.php?story_id=792
Perhaps the most revealing one for me is the condition that KTFC are the sole club at Nene Park. This might explain why the discussions between Cousins and Ladak didn't progress during their earlier meetings - and why they can now proceed.

Re: KTFC Statement
I just laughed out loud when I read the following....
I could name about 50 strikers in non-league i'd rather have in my side than Moses Ashikodi, including JP Marna who probably feels like a bit of a donut if he's read that. The club is aware of unwelcome interest in Moses Ashikodi. We can confirm that the player is vital to our plans for next season. We have no intention to sell the player who is commonly regarded as the best striker outside the football league. Any further approaches to the player aimed at unsettling him will be reported to the authorities. Any enquiries about any player under contract must be made directly to the Chairman.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

The only person who regards Moses Ashikodi as the best striker outside the football league is Moses Ashikodi.BartonRaz wrote:I just laughed out loud when I read the following....

The bit that caught my attention was:
That's not what HT said at the Trust meeting, or what KC said at the forum. Both implied that they would be taking on the stadium ONLY, and KC was on about leasing the training pitches to other parties, including GHA. If they are taking the whole lot then presumably KC will be charging them the same rent as he did the Beasants i.e. £250k pa. Good luck to them affording that!6.The club has use of all facilities at Nene Park excluding the sports centre.
EDIT: Plus the £863 it costs to run Nene Park every day, which is the £1000 quoted by HT minus the £50k pa (£137 per day) for the S&E centre.

Re: KTFC Statement
Do you think they have realised yet they have a constant reminder that they are the cuckoos in our nest with the address being Diamond Way?!!
Re: KTFC Statement
Thanks for putting this in the clearest way I've seen Dave. I don't think everybody has fully appreciated how much the Club was already costing to run before KC added on the £250k rent when the Beasant's took over - I reckon they needed to find £500k extra pa just to replace what KC was putting in to preserve his investment plus the addtional £250K. To expect to make £500k disposable profit in the first year of a startup business that wouldn't trade until Easter at the earliest must have made for an interesting Business plan (assuming that the two parties discussed one).davealbon wrote:The only person who regards Moses Ashikodi as the best striker outside the football league is Moses Ashikodi.BartonRaz wrote:I just laughed out loud when I read the following....

Re: KTFC Statement
I thought of the cuckoo analogy the other day. ;) Furthermore KC may wish that the stadium remain to be known as Nene Park. Diamond Way has been registered with the highways authority and the name is carved on the stone retaining wall as a permanent reminder to all those Ploppies travelling from the direction of K*ttering.White Diamond wrote:Do you think they have realised yet they have a constant reminder that they are the cuckoos in our nest with the address being Diamond Way?!!

If you look around the ground, from the doors to the carpets, bars etc. it's going to be impossible to air brush out completely, without a lot of expense, the fact that KTFC are playing in the home of their former fearsome rivals. ;)

Will they be known as the "Cuckoos" from now on then? ;)Trek wrote:I thought of the cuckoo analogy the other day ;) Furthermore KC may wish that the stadium remain to be known as Nene Park. Re: KTFC Statement
"K*ttering Town FC retains its name"
Now what were we told at the meetings ? Oh yes, a good chance there would (at some point) be a change of name. This was one of the points made to entice Rushden & Diamonds fans to continue to watch football there.

A little food for thought for all the K*ttering fans:Two of Diamonds wrote:"K*ttering Town FC retains its name"

WIMBLEDON have confirmed that they will be playing under the same name when they move to Milton Keynes next summer.
Reports had suggested that only the club's current nickname 'The Dons' would be kept.
However, chairman Charles Koppel (pictured) has stated that they will begin next season with Wimbledon FC on their shirts.
"It remains Wimbledon Football Club, that is our history and the tradition of the club. There has been a lot said about the name," said Koppel.
"However, the difficulty in finding an appropriate location should not take away from the history of the club and its supporters.
"When we looked at stadiums for Wimbledon we took a 25-mile radius from Plough Lane and contacted every local authority in that radius and every one wrote back to us and said 'no'.
"Milton Keynes was a last-gasp effort, the alternative was to close the club."
Meanwhile, The Dons have handed pro contracts to five academy players - Dean Lewington, Nico Herzig, Wade Small, Malvin Kamara and Lee Worgan.
.
Now what was that phrase regarding history repeating?
