A few fans from AFC Rushden and Diamonds will be at Party in the Park today - with a small stand, though I can't tell you whereabouts we are located yet - look for the R&DFC Flag [Not adjusted to AFC yet] anyway :-) (Opens from around Midday I think).
This is mainly just to let people know we're around, with some leaflets, and to collect details for people that are interested in knowing more details once we have them, and to promote the official web site URL "afcdiamonds.com" [We hope to have some more content there shortly and/or link it in to saverdfc.com in the short term, so we have one consistent name to use]. And just explain what we hope to do this year - Youth, then a full Senior team next year.
We have a few volunteers coming along from Midday or later in the afternoon, but if you want to drop along and help we may need some at times during the afternoon, or just come and have a chat.
So far of course the only things arranged are the trials - for next week, as this had to be done ASAP, plus the next official fans meeting on Saturday 16th July at Raunds Town (Midday) - after the trials.
The information of what's coming has already gone out to all the various Press channels we have, including BBC/ET/NLP etc..

started slow by got a lot of interest later, but hells own job finding young men of a suitable age ( wife most disappointed ) ie youth team trialists but quite a few interested people. I know at least half a dozen who stopped coming for one reason or another who have said they will support us again. Quite a successful day including one really nice Cobbs fan who said it could have been them and gave us a good donation

Well done to everyone who helped out. Great to see that we are getting the word around both by word of mouth and via the press.
Didn't really know where to put this, but just seen this from a Newport fan on the Grass Roots Forum.

Firstly may i convey my utmost respect to you and your fellow supporters. It will be a long hard road that you are about to travel, there will be lots of ups and just as many downs but ultimatly the rewards will be worth every step you take. Enjoy the good times and when the not so good times come never loose faith in what your aiming to achieve. I am sure that if you need any advice the good people at newport county supporters trust or afc wimbledon supporters trust would be more than happy to help you.
All the best and keep the faith.
