Rushden team name, and going back home to where it all started, makes sense to me.

Hayden Road is one of the grounds being considered, however, it's already a struggle to fulfil all the fixtures there during the winter months, so it's unlikely that we would be able to setup home there. It's possible, however, that the U18s may play games at more than one ground next season, and Hayden Road could be one of them.
In an ideal world I'd love to see AFC R&D playing at Hayden Road, however the fact is there are numerous good reasons why we would be unable to play there (as well as the above you have access and parking issues, poorer facilities....)

Is Hayden Road just unrealistic in terms of what it would cost to bring it up to a good standard?
Because if it is sufficient for UCL football then it would give a team a good base to start with, even if just in the short term.

I must admit I haven't been to Hayden Road in about two years, but last time I was there it was a total dive in comparison to Wellingborough and that is saying something. I've never been to Raunds so can't comment on that.

I concede that it is historically relevant to RDFC and also is in the 'appropriate' area, but Wellingborough is less than five minutes away from Rushden or Irthlingborough, and i'd say that Raunds was even closer for those coming from Irthlingborough.

It depends what the overall feeling is i guess. Are we looking for a ground that can be developed (and a relatively long-term home) or are we looking for a quick fix for a season before looking for a new ground the season after? I'd be inclined to opt for the former, but that's the beauty of a voting system.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Former for me as well. Hayden Road is in a residential area and backs onto the cricket club, so it can't be developed. Wellingborough or Raunds are close enough.
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

we are talking about these grounds as though they are empty and hve no clubs playing at them, i think the clubs that reside there might have something to say

We'll probably have to accept what we are offered, TBH there will be little choice in it if someone is good enough to take us, we should not look a gift horse in the mouth.

I don't think there is one perfect solution.

Each possibility has it's benefits in different ways, I think we can be quite attractive to a club in bringing bar/food/sponsorship income to a club, however there are so many factors to consider, of course any decision can be looked at again for the following season.
