You clearly didn't see Chorlton's post before it was edited, it was horrendous and that kind of moronic 'banter' makes us all look like massive arseholes.
It's very disappointing that this forum's going to go, mainly because it means we'll lose the big archive of posts and stuff built up over a couple of years.

I've backed the database up and it is all still available. If ID asks the new forum owners nicely I'm sure they will be able to re-instate the posts.
Re: Forum Announcment
I admit I did not see Chorlton's original post. We know he is both passionate and foul-mouthed - in fact I did recently complain to the moderators about his language on an earlier post a couple of weeks back - but we are adults. Swearing goes on. Some of us may not like it, but it happens. I'm beginning to get fed up of the whole saga now. I think I'll retire from reading both the old and new sites and live with my memories of what Diamonds once meant to me. Perhaps I'll rekindle my interest when we have a viable adult side to follow but at the moment I am fast losing interest.

Well that would be a shame.Cotty wrote:I admit I did not see Chorlton's original post. I have to say I'm a bit surprised by some people's reactions... Zootee is a KTFC fan and was kind enough to host our forum for a couple of seasons. For whatever reason, he doesn't want to anymore. That's fair enough - I wouldn't bother helping out with a rival club site, and the fact that he did it for all this time is commendable.
The new forum (whilst having a few registration problems!) is fine, has no adverts, and will (hopefully, once I figure it out) have the same address. Nothing to get worked up about.

I didn't see it before it was edited, but didn't this thread go up at 10 and his post go up at 12? (could be wrong)Sara Pascoe wrote:You clearly didn't see Chorlton's post before it was edited, it was horrendous and that kind of moronic 'banter' makes us all look like massive arseholes.

You could have 140 years of no achievement, or twenty years of glorious victories, you decide.

Cotty does make a good point though. The forum has been going downhill for a good while now, with more and more of the people who are able to put coherent sentences together being replaced by those who make you look for a new version of the Google Translate tool to try and make sense of their words. Couple that with those whose witticisms are tired (and tiring) and you end up with an ever growing "ignore this users posts" list.
Perhaps version 7 of the Diamonds forum might be a big improvement on version 6.
(Greg / Simon / Charlie / Aston / ID / Zootee if I remember correctly).

Re: Forum Announcment
Just to make it clear.
It wasn't 'that' post specifically by Chorlton. I was asked for an example and I gave one.
When this forum started, you loved to hate us, and we loved to hate you, it's what makes the football world go round. I just feel that there are a growing number of fans who feel totally bitter about this whole situation now, and it is beginning to get a little bit personal/OTT.
I've enjoyed hosting this forum and can honestly say that I have NEVER edited/moderated a single topic, no matter how bad the content.
What's happened to RDFC is shitty and it does feel very hollow sitting on the other side of the fence, but, it is time to move on.
I really hope that AFC Diamonds is a success.
Regards
Joe

Unfortunately Formic, as you well know, that's the nature of the beast. The only thing that binds everyone on here is that we were all fans of Rushden & Diamonds. Without meaning to sound pompus, not all of us are able to engage in any kind of serious debate.Formic wrote:Cotty does make a good point though. I actually agree with you that the general readability of the forum/s has decreased, certainly since I started posting around 2004/2005. I also agree regarding tiring witticisms.
Despite that, i've made a lot of friends on here, have got involved in a lot of things as a result of being part of this online community, and it always has been the best (and often the first place) to get news on anything Diamonds related.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Re: Forum Announcment
Shame it's coming to an end but now that Rushden and Diamonds are dead it is only right that the new AFC R&D youth set up has it's own forum where the past can be forgotten and topics more related to youth football can be dwelt on. Thanks for the memories now forward with AFC youths.
