(EDIT - this might still just be a rumour, apologies if that is the case)

The more I think about them retiring the number 1 shirt the more disgusted I am.

Yes, Dale deserves to be remembered - but to me this (and the stand name change) is a blatant attempt to woo some of our fans. They're using Dale's tragic death as a marketing ploy, which is just pathetic. My opinion of KC and IL just keeps dropping.

Judging by their forum, KTFC fans are equally upset, and I don't really blame them. They were very respectful during the time of his passing (and since then in regards to the subject) but this is so obviously motivated by ticket sales rather than the memory of a good man and a great goalkeeper that even they can't help but feel used.

This is the last I'll say on the matter, because I'd like to leave Dale to rest in peace, but it's really disgusting that his memory is seemingly being exploited by East Northants United. Dale will always be a Diamond - anyone who saw him join in with "jump up if you hate K*ttering!" knows that :)

IL has confirmed on Ploppynet that it's a false rumour.
