Nine years ago we started the season with a trip to Swansea - quite a memorable game at the start of the season that saw us win the Division 3 title - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=canQKS6s17g http://www.thediamondsfc.com/page/Match ... 97,00.html
Tonight they start their season with a trip to face Man City in the Premier League.
Three great goals in the game, as well as two red cards meant a decent reward for those of us that made the trip.

Re: Nine Years Ago
what a great day out that was
unders equaliser was a screamer from what i remember (cant get the vid to work!!)
remember coming out the ground to my old man telling me hunter was a liability and he should never play for us again..... think we all glad he did now!! dredful tackle tho
sad to think of clubs like them qpr hull etc all enjoying top level football and us out of business after competing at the same level just a few years ago

That was the game after which I got thumped (whilst sitting in my own car!) by a Swansea fan who was presumably disgruntled by Underwood's equalizer. Was that really nearly a decade ago?

Are you sure you didn't bring it on yourself by pointing out his grammatical errors?! ;)Red Dragon wrote:That was the game after which I got thumped (whilst sitting in my own car!) by a Swansea fan who was presumably disgruntled by Underwood's equalizer. Was that really nearly a decade ago?

Wow, almost a decade ago.
All I remember from the day was lots of beer and stopping on the way back at a pub in Ross on Wye and watching Michael Vaughan run out for 199 against new Zealand, possibly.
Disclaimer, it might not have been Vaughan, it might not have been a run out, it might not have been on the verge of a double century and it might not have been against new Zealand.

You were right on one count! It was Michael Vaughan, but it was against India and he was c Patel b Agarkar for 197. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63998.htmlStalin wrote:Wow, almost a decade ago.

Interesting (if you're a cricket fan!) to note that 7 of the India team who played in that match have featured in the current series, but not one of the England side are still playing international cricket.
