Interesting developments on Ploppynet
Interesting developments on Ploppynet
Having spent most of the day with a smile on my face following events at the cuckoo's nest last night I decided to see if there was any more ammusing fare to be found on their tawdry forum. And then I stumbled onto this post from an erstwhile R&D fan;
"I have to say I posted a thread this morning about not coming to a game again. I didn't want to go into detail about the reasons for this decision in my thread this morning but more to thanks some of the KT fans I've met during the last 2 games.
But this was something that I had heard last night but didn't want to post anything about this. Never before in all my years at going to matches at NP had I heard such things from home fans. A large percentage of the old faces I bumped into after the first game said they wouldn't come again and that was pretty clear as last night as I was with a much smaller group of old fans, but this was one of the reasons why the majority of us won't be coming back again.
Had hoped that with all the hype that has come out in the press and what we were told on the tours about the large expected crowds and a large number of ex RDFC fans coming to games that we might well have a good family friendly sustainable club once again in our area but I just don't think that is the case and the crowds will only get lower if this type of thing carries on.
Given the fact that last night a good % of people at the game where on the free under 16's tickets I thought this type of thing was shocking in the presence of so many Jr fans."
I can't say I'm all that shocked at the news that Kettrin fans are both racist and thick, but I'm very pleased to discover that the vastly over-estimated number of supporters who decided to switch allegiance to the scum are now walking away in their droves.

ouch indeed, i still have to chuckle that they expected 400 RDFC fans to go and watch them!!
I did find this post quite funny too
Pretty sure I'll get ripped to shreds for this post, but at least I gave it a go and attended the first two home games as an ex RDFC fan.
I had brought an RDFC ticket and hence got a free season ticket as part of the promotion, some RDFC fans I know sold their ticket straight away but I thought I'd give it a go and come and watch KTFC at NP as I've been going to watch football at the ground since day one.
I met up with a few old RDFC faces at the first game and was surprised to see 20-30 people I know but most of us agreed it didn't feel right and wouldn't come back for a second visit. I was one that did try again last night and came to watch the game but I won't be going back again for a third time. (and it's not due to last nights result, although the performance was extremely poor)
I wish you well and hope that the attendances hold up. I wouldn't want the same thing that happened to RDFC to happen to anyone else.
I came on here just like to say thanks to the KT fans I did meet, as I found everyone very welcoming during both my visits and was interesting hearing and talking about everyone’s concerns. Good luck once again for the season, on last nights performance it looks like it's going to be a tough one.

I feel we should invite Dave along to Kiln park tomorrow night!

i spoke to a bloke today who lives local to np and went down for a look. at £18 he said he'd not be going back and not due to the result , he followed neither side.

Actually it was 600. ;)bozzer wrote:ouch indeed, i still have to chuckle that they expected 400 RDFC fans to go and watch them!!
Agreed (probably Stagman since he's braving Poppynet could PM him?) , him or any of his group would be welcome to Kiln Park tomorrow. For me just watching watching AFC feels both natural and right, in some ways more so than watching the old club last season. I know it is truly where I belong.I feel we should invite Dave along to Kiln park tomorrow night!

OK, i've sat and looked at the first post for about five minutes. Am I missing something here? I must admit I can't understand some of it, but why is he not going to go to K*ttering games anymore? Something he's heard the supporters say?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

If you brave ploppsnet you will see a thread about the game last night where they talk about fans shouting racist abuse during the game at the York players.BartonRaz wrote:OK, i've sat and looked at the first post for about five minutes. The original post I guess is about that.
