I am going, cant wait, i do wonder if we will be able to generate some sort of atmosphere... this would be a massive help and boost to the lads as they may not have experienced that before.

Re: AFC R&D gear up for first competitive match
What an historic occasion...gutted I haven't been able to get involved with AFC. Originally was hoping to play for us, would have been such a great team to play for, dreamt of changing my username  ... but unfortunately being away pretty much all summer, and not being available for a lot of fixtures has meant not being able to trial and try to play for us. Will try my hardest to get along to some games, but until one of the original R&D lot gets a car it will be a struggle unless they're away at Thrapston! And then after this year it's 4 years away, which will make it impossible to properly follow. I've got to say looking at it from an outsiders point of view it looks like we're all going in the right direction. I think the people at the helm of running the club should put on a few lessons for the 'professional' chairmen out there...fantastic ideas with the pizzas and sponsorship, some inspiration we oh so lacked when we needed it at RDFC. I will be overseeing it from a distance hoping we great this 'plastic' club back up and quieten all the haters out there. I wonder where we'll be in 5 years...as Pigman said the original attendance was 300ish...I for one think we'll be a success definitely.

How well advertised is this game? I haven't seen any posters/leaflets/flyers in Rushden. :(

It was on the local radio at 7.30 this morning, I expect you were still in bed!

I'm going with a mate, hopefully the atmosphere will be good as its all part of the attraction of going to games and will help attendances.
