because i understand that the club need to make a profit and i doubt they cost £25 to make

It's not about how much they cost to make, it's how much they cost US to buy, transport, administer and get a profit from it to build a UCL team for next season.
£30 seems very reasonable to me compared to last season's prices.

The margin's aren't as great, in our case at least, as certain former Newcastle United board members would have you believe.

I think that £29.99 a shirt, bearing in mind the relatively small production runs, represents excellent value for money compared with the cost of last season's R&DFC shirt and the current prices of most of the Premiership club shirts where some are being sold in excess of £50!

You're missing the point, Premiership clubs make zillions out of shirt sales which they don't actually need because of the Sky money whereas the excellent service that AFC provide in selling these replica shirts to a small number of fans at less than £30 is probably not contributing much in the way of funds for the new club, bearing in mind Dave Albon's earlier comments.

BTW we're not actually a UCL club yet! ;)

Also bear in mind that unlike those Premiership giants, we really do need the money!

The margins will improve though once the first AFC R&D sweat shop opens in the Far East! ;)

It is cheaper compared to many other replica shirts around. I haven't bought a rushden shirt for years something about it not looking great on blokes over a certain age!
however I have bought a home and away one this year, as I have great pride in wearing one, plus I am not paying for a season ticket or paying £18 each week to watch football I am paying £2. I also want to support the club.
As Dave said we really don't make loads on it but we do make a little and it all adds up.
