likewise. i've got my 340 quid back through barclays, hence why i became a member and gave them the extra fifty. afc will need every penny they can generate.bozzer wrote:It is cheaper compared to many other replica shirts around. I haven't bought a rushden shirt for years something about it not looking great on blokes over a certain age!
however I have bought a home and away one this year, as I have great pride in wearing one, plus I am not paying for a season ticket or paying £18 each week to watch football I am paying £2. I also want to support the club.
As Dave said we really don't make loads on it but we do make a little and it all adds up.

i understand where you guys are coming from and believe me, i appreciate the hard work going in but surely selling them cheaper and having every single fan in a shirt would generate more cash than more expensive shirts which some families might not be able to afford..

Honestly when you take into account all the admin etc they really can't be sold that much cheaper as they are quite expensive to us.DiamondCarvell wrote:i understand where you guys are coming from and believe me, i appreciate the hard work going in but surely selling them cheaper and having every single fan in a shirt would generate more cash than more expensive shirts which some families might not be able to afford..
I like the discussion though, perhaps we ought to look at getting the members to decide next seasons?

Perhaps the Darlington names on shirts idea we discussed a few years ago might be appropriate again now?

Just a comment on this member thing deciding club strategy, whilst I think it's very noble and a great vision to have, you can end up spending more time having meetings and polls than driving the club forward. Once the club have a voted on, a confirmed committee, the membership (fans) will need to entrust those guys/girls to make the right decisions on a day to day basis. The committee will be answerable to fans at forums and agm's but please dont spend more time on meetings and polls than you need to! Just a view :|

Re: Ideas, Ideas, Ideas
you are right BD, we must get the correct measure of meetings/votes to allowing the elected board to run the club and it is about getting that balance right.
