Although I don't think playing in Cambridgeshire is an option, it is interesting to see the localised views on this thread. Those of us Diamonds fans from other counties, with no links to Northants, had always felt welcome at the old club precisely because it wasn't specifically linked to one town.

There were one or two who used to post on here who tried to suggest "non-Rushden" outsiders weren't welcome (and who themselves were then rarely seen at Nene Park or away games in recent seasons), but it will be interesting to see what the geographic identity of the new club is to be.

Having a stated strategy / plan for the club's location is pretty vital in my opinion - even if temporary measures have to be adopted as the club finds its feet.

That was one of my points about the naming of the club, but that's old hat now. The geographic identity is where we are including Rushden, Higham, Irthlingboro', Raunds and even Wellingborough IMO. Personally a move to Hayden Road would be a big step backwards towards the old Rushden Town for me and that's something I'd struggle with.
Now when that big Euromillions comes up it'd be located on the Rushden / Higham bypass ;) :D

Slap bang in the middle.

In between the houses and the school, there is a massive area that has gone overgrown (it might of had a good tidy up since I last ventured in there). People can still use that for football pitches.
