So will Tomlin, and as he was running the show in the home fixture before Millsy decided to end his game. Tommo will have a point to prove.

Or will he?

I would trust the press release from the FA, which still says the 4th is when it starts. Also if you count a month as 31 days for a loan surely it is the same for a time based suspension, or to the same date in the next month, either way taking it to the 21st... Sunday. (remember it was counted as 93 days for a 3 month loan of you know who a few seasons ago)

I can forsee another points deduction debacle if he plays and we don't win. If he plays, we fail to win, and it turns out he was inelligable then history has it that we will not get the points awarded in our favour, just anything that Mansfield get taken off their total.

It's all ifs. It might be worth getting someone on our end to seek official confirmation from the FA just to avoid one of these comedy situations again. Either that or just go and win it to make sure everything is nice and simple ;)

It still says 1 month from 4th February on the FA site, but even if Mansfield are correct, surely one month from 21st. January takes us past Saturday, which is the 20th. - unless 1 month is deemed to be 30 days of course.

I think the FA need better clarification of what exactly '1 month' means (assuming they don't already, unbeknownst to us). When referring to loans, I think 1 month can be between 28 and 31 days, and is determined by the clubs involved. I've no idea if the same applies to suspensions though.

I do find it strange though, that for a relatively short suspension they would specify it as a period of time rather than a number of games. Given the number of postponments this season it's conceivable that another player with exactly the same suspension as Burge, but at a different time of the season, could miss no games, or possibly 8/9 games.

Anyway, I'd be amazed if Mansfield get something like this wrong, especially given their current league position and the importance of the game against us.
