Matt - You should watch a dvd called the Real Football Factories International with Danny Dyer (who else?!?) - In one of the episodes he goes to Dinamo Zagreb and i think he interviews the guy who was on the megaphone. He says almost exactly the same about watching Zagreb as you did though.

Funnily enough I haven't ever seen it but it can't be a coincidence about what I said then.

The other thing I forgot to mention (someone mentioned cheering/atmosphere)...

When they scored, both times... there was absolutely no reaction from the fans, they just kept singing their 10 minute songs without even a slight hesitation, it was really odd a goal going in and no sudden cheers or applause, must be horrible for the players.

What more I found funnier about the racism issue was the fact their captain I'm fairly sure was black.

Have been visiting many different European stadiums over the last 6-7 years. Watched various games at Real Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Juventus, Dortmund, Shalke and Munich. Have tickets for Champions league group games at Dortmund and Ajax v Real Madrid to look forward to in December. I always enjoy games in the Bundesliga, such terrific atmosphere. 80,000 at Dortmund singing "you'll never walk alone" prior to kick off is quite an occasion. The thing that I was surprised at was the ability to get alcohol so easily at most grounds, even at your seat during the game. cant beat a cold beer watching football on a lovely summers evening. Also on the way into the San Siro in Milan there is an excellent bar with tables and chairs outside to sit down and relax. Considering there was approx 50,000 at the game if that had been in England it would have been 20 deep at the bar. I sat there on my own right up till 15 minutes before kick off! I couldn't get my head around that.

The German model has always been one that I feel we should aspire to, including the price of tickets and safe standing (although for the upper levels this would need to be done gradually with proper regulations and safety guidelines in place). All the Bundesliga clubs are required by law to be 51% owned by members which helps to restrict a lot of the foreign owner/business owner problems.

I've never been to a game in a foreign country, although I would like to at some point.

Regarding Scottish football, even just watching it on TV, bores me to tears, tried watching a Celtic game, but was asleep within 15 minutes!!!

Also you have to remember that there are only 18 teams in the Bundesliga, so 6 winners is actually 33% of the league.

Four teams winning the (20-team) Prem is only 20%.

The violence aspect was overdone a bit tho, there wasnt anything bad regarding violence when I was there, just passion for the club.

Went to Blues v Club Brugge last night at St Andrews, the Brugge fans were fantastic, apart from 20 minutes in the second half during the blues come back.

Half of their chants were in English as well, it's an odd feeling having "your support is f*cking sh*t" chanted at you by a bunch of Belgians.

In the 23rd minute of every match they have a minute's applause for an ex-player, blues fans joined in as well which was fantastic.
