Not at all. The Poppy appeal is unique to the UK. FIFA have established rules, see the penultimate paragraph of the BBC report.
I thought the suggestion by a caller on 5 Live to have a Poppy armband was a good idea as an alternative, as that doesn't affect the underlying kit design, which is the reason for FIFA's rejection, and is easy to do.
You may have noticed on Thursday we tried some stickers on the AFC R&D Kit, but they weren't really sticky enough for the shirt material we have, though a few stayed on for the walk to the pitch at least.

Ash Meeks had his on under a tracksuit top for most of the game so when he came on, Redsnapper managed to get a pic before the sticker fell off:
