Next season
Next season
Bonjour a tous de France!
I'm looking forward to next time i'm back in the UK so I can get down to Kiln Park! I've also been thinking about next season, and i'm sure that planning is well underway. Has anyone thought about pre-season friendlies as a means by which to raise the club's profile and also some funds at the same time? Surely St. Neots would give us a game, but would there be any chance of getting a slightly more high profile club? Perhaps some clubs might see it as good publicity helping out a club in its inaugural season (as a semi-professional club anyway).

Re: Next season
With regard to next season, do we have a groundshare at Kiln Park definately in place beyond this season, or are arangements still to be finalised?

Re: Next season
The focus at the moment is on getting the Community Benefit Society/Constitution finalised, growing membership and of course getting ready to put in our bid for a league to play in next season, loads of work to be done amongst those tasks, plus the guys handling all of this have day jobs too remember..............the other things you're asking about are on the agenda and will come in due course, so watch this space eh?

Re: Next season
Nothing has been confirmed yet for next season. We are currently talking to a number of clubs about a possible groundshare for next season and beyond. Once we have a definitive list of the possible venues and what the arrangements will be at each ground, we will then present the options to the membership and have a vote.Sid wrote:With regard to next season, do we have a groundshare at Kiln Park definately in place beyond this season, or are arangements still to be finalised?
[Affect dodgy Geordie accent] Where will we play next season? You decide!

Re: Next season
Note: We do not have a groundshare with Raunds at Kiln Park. We hire the facilities per match, same as for meetings, and other events like the Quiz Nights, and the Christmas Party.Sid wrote:With regard to next season, do we have a groundshare at Kiln Park definately in place beyond this season, or are arangements still to be finalised?

Thanks for the response pigman. I hope you didn't see my post as a kind of dig at people who are clearly working extremely hard. I was just reading the forum and the idea of pre-season just popped into my head, I think it would be an excellent way to 'hit the ground running'.
I'd love to help out a bit more, but i'm working in France right now. If anyone from the club would like any help that can be done from my laptop then i'd be more than happy to see if I can help.

Sorry if my response came over like that mabbo, it wasn't meant to, I knew you weren't having a dig and didn't take it that way - just trying to say that there are loads and loads of things that still need to be sorted and I'm confident they'll all get done, but there is a priority order they need to be done in.
I've never felt more confident about the future to be honest, and yes you're right, getting a good pre-season is important to raise the profile and excitement, but there are building blocks that need to be put in place first.

Three of Diamonds; I can barely explain to a French person where Northamptonshire is.....I think it'll be a while until I have the lingustic ability to explain the ins and outs of AFC Rushden and Diamonds! Having said that, it turns out that the people of Montpellier have a real interest in us Brits!
Thanks Pigman! I'm really excited about the new season aswell, the atmosphere around the club is great.

Thanks Pigman, Dave and Dazzler for clarifying that, I wasn't at all sure what the situation was.
