Well if anyone is going to invest they'll need to do it today (Monday) because surely an unfulfilled fixture means the end?

Would KC invest £150k or a fraction of that when there's a pretty good chance he won't see any rent money in the future anyway (along with the money he's probably already owed by KTFC)?

Can't remember who came up with the quote in the summer about "there being dark forces at work within Northamptonshire football" but that's being proved correct.

Anyone want to take an educated 'what if' guess as to what'll happen within the county if they go to the wall? Corby and Northampton will be left, what are their futures?

The Cobblers own Sixfields, so won't be hoofed out. They did enquire about Nene park as a Training Centre and a base for the Centre of Excellence. A base for the Rugby League club is possible though.

I know all of that and I agree with you, but common sense and football don't go hand in glove - I just have a funny feeling that there are some twists and turns in this yet, I guess we'll see.

I agree Pigman, I think there may be some further twists but I can't see anything happening until after they have gone into administration. No one in there right mind would want to come in and take on all of Ladak's debts, plus pay off the other two "investors" which Ladak says are expecting some return on their investment. If anyone comes in, it will be when they are in admin and a cva has been agreed with creditors. But even if someone does come in, it still doesn't resolve the fact that KTFC at Nene Park, with KC as landlord, is not sustainable unless you have the pockets of a Saudi prince. If it's not sustainable in the conference then it certainly isn't going to be sustainable in the BSN which is what surely awaits if they do survive and face the points deductions for administration.

It all comes down to what the real intentions of the agreement between KC and Ladak were and they are the only two people who know. If they want K*ttering dead and buried then there will be no escaping it despite any spin they put out along the way. If it suits KC's purposes then I would expect to see some sort of takeover which may keep them ticking over for a little while longer but it will only be a matter of time.

I'm sure K*ttering fans will get of their arses and form a successful phoenix club but as we know it's very difficult to do that whilst the club that you love is still going. We all clung to every scrap of hope despite what we heard or knew. It's much easier to believe it's all going to work out in the end.

Just spoke to someone who has been at NP this morning - there were no players at all on either of the training pitches. Perhaps they were training elsewhere or having a little nap somewhere......

Think the interesting thing would be actions follow points deduction.

If a club is relegated following administration and points deduction, would the conference accept that club into the north/south league.

I think they will be kicked out before the end of the season due to failing to field a team / unable to complete fixtures, and a new club will be formed playing out of Rocking Horse Road.i

If they do enter administration they would lose the 10 points but not necessarily be relegated. If by some miracle they managed to stay up with the 10 point deduction AND be out of administration by the end of the season then I think I'm right in saying that they would be able to continue in the Conference National. If they are still in administration at the end of the season then it wouldn't matter if they finished top of the league they would still be relegated down to Southern League level (if they could convince the Southern League to accept them).

They wouldn't necessarily be kicked out of the league for failing to fulfil a fixture, just fined heavily and docked more points, unless the Conference felt (as they did with Chester) that there was no way back in which case they would be expelled (which would be very likely, although not a certainty). If it was multiple fixtures that they failed to fulfil then I'm sure they would be expelled immediately.

As for a phoenix side playing at the Rockinghorse, I don't think that would be likely, as their lease on the ground is only for another 18 months (I think) and the land owner is unwilling to extend it (hence the move to Nene Park).
