The other advantage at Irchester, in addition to the nice clubhouse, is that you can park inside the ground, so retreat to your car at half-time (or even during the game!) if you want. The only downside to their clubhouse is that it doesn't have any view of the pitch, so the second half can start with those in the clubhouse unaware the game has restarted.Dazzler wrote:You mean Irchester? The clubhouse at Irthlingborough (aka Strikers, was quite nice as I recall).Everyweeker wrote:How is the clubhouse at I'boro? I would like a pre-match drink and to be warm at half-time![]()
Perhaps rephrase my original call -
"Want nice clubhouse, will travel" ;)
It's not bad, beer, food, Sky etc..
Tomorrow?

Re: Tomorrow?
On the subject of tomorrow, there is the Red Bull F1 event in Milton Keynes, which means it will be pretty busy there. I need to get to and from MK rail station, which might be a challenge!

Re: Tomorrow?
One thing that was suggested a while back was a kind of 'AFC on Tour' idea where everyone goes to the same game on a sat and takes the flag and all their AFC clobber etc.
With the amount of people going to different games on a sat at the moment it seems like it might be a good idea.
I nominate Pigman as the official co-ordinator, seeing as he is our representative and all ;-)

Re: Tomorrow?
Your all most welcome to AFC Kempston for our UCL Premier Divison fixture with Sleaford, kick off 3pm!
The clubhouse will be open for the real ale lovers etc.. the tea bar will have a pukka pie or two alongside a nice warm cuppa, soup or boveril!
Hopefully see a few of you there, cheers!

Very nearly decided to go to the Hawthorns to see the Baggies game tomorrow. Instead a national newspaper is paying me to go out and buy 15 pints of stella.....

According to the timestamps on that you posted your reply a minute before my post ... Can we use that time machine to stop Max selling the club? ;)

Re: Tomorrow?
Today actually.
Both games in Wellingborough look interesting, I'll probably go to one or other weather permiting :?
Welly Town play Desborough who are having an awful season but have just got a new manager, wonder if he can make a start on saving them from relegation (been in the top division since 1896!)
Whits play Huntingdon who didn't impress me greatly at Rushden and Higham earlier in the season, but have a big budget and are many peoples favourites for promotion.
Actually from the back of the stand at the woof and quack you can (sort of) watch both games
