I know this might sound a bit dim, but what's the Steering Group's objectives / role within AFC R & D? Does it include the day-to-day business running or does it have a more defined purpose? It might help people decide to stand (or not) if we know what it's purpose is.
Sorry if that sounds a bit dim.

That's a good point. It might also be useful for the (draft) constitution to be published, so fans can understand the way that specific roles are filled - e.g. does the steering committee decide who is chairperson / treasurer etc, and whether they co-opt people onto their committee or into specific roles, as the old RDFC Trust did.

Let's hope as many as possible of those who have done such an excellent job to date will stand for election.

The steering committe will be representing the members in the running of the club, this will include ensuring the day to day running of the club is correct plus short medium and long term planning.
It might mean that they don't do all the day to day running of the club but are responsible to ensure a team of volunteers are.
E.g and whilst its not a necessity it is the committees responsibility to ensure to get the games filmed, but it isn't just me who films, or who does the interviewing or who edits the highlights there are 3 or 4 others involved.
So even if you don't want to stand but want to help out that would be great, if you do want to stand then that's great too.

Just to be a bit clearer the elected board will divide the roles up once they are elected, so for example marketing and sponsorship one of the elected members would take on the responsibility of that and work with the people involved in those roles at the club
