I'm still not convinced in my mind as to the real value of the land at NP. As we know the hotel scheme hit the buffers and that would have required no demolition costs. The demolition costs on the stadium would be massive and quite frankly what a waste that would be. The land to the rear occupied by pitches 2 and 3 have problems since the S&E centre is owned by Peter Wilson. Housing would never be permitted so it would have to be industrial/commercial development.
Anyway, I guess Colin Hall is on the case. ;)

i agree there are lots of obstacles for development but as you say a certain someone hasn't earned 200 million by not knowing what can be developed and what can't.

i really think that if they could all walk away with 500K/£1million each in the future then they would take that even if two clubs have died in the process.

If you compare them to Max, who had money built a dream, saw the dream realised.

CH had the opportunity to do the same with RDFC if thats what he wanted, he didn't so theres your answer.

Because it's nothing to do with saving a football club, they're not and weren't interested in the football - ever.

They could afford to let RDFC die because they knew they could convince IL to move to NP and I'm convinced that as soon as those covenants expire KTFC will be shipped out. It's all about the land - always was and always will be.
We didn't heed those warnings, I really do hope that the Ploppy faithful do, even if it means setting up their own club now!

The goings on will be to attract a new bigger fan base, MK Dons style.

Attract the KTFC fans and the AFC past or present and gel them all into one at Nene Park with JE as manager come the summer. Which initially probably was the plan last summer but for some reason didnt happen.

JE hung around for a long time didnt he????

With AFC looking to maybe play on pitch 2 at Nene Park it will soon become mooted why have two clubs struggling when one will cover all bases.

He comes East Northants United or K*ttering & Diamonds FC

The word you want is "mooted" - as in "proposed", not "muted" - as in "quietened down".

But I agree with you, that's a possible scenario which non-football lovers might think reasonable. Thankfully for us football isn't reasonable, it's passionate... and I can't imagine many supporters of either of the old teams wanting to watch either K*ttering Diamonds or East Northants United in enough numbers to make it worthwhile.

I think you have underestimated the level of opposition to KC and his croonues, as I have staed before, I will never set foot in nene Park again, whilst KC is in charge, and by the looks of it neither will the majority of Ploppies.........AFC all the way 8-)

I suggested 2 years ago that a merger was the only way to save both clubs but we are way past that stage now. I agree with Stacey's post but am I right in saying that to meet the terms of the covenant football has to be played at Nene Park until 2015?

This is why Hill + co are 'saving' K*ttering - not for love or future prosperity that's for sure!

One thing for certain - a change of name will not be supported by the community.

Nothing to do with any convenants that may or may not be in place relating to the use of Nene Park for sporting use.

The often quoted 2015 date relates to a clause that David Suddens insisted was included in the deed of transfer of RDFC and ground to the Trust back in 2005 whereby any sale of land before 2015 would trigger a payment back to the Griggs Group relative to the value of the land at the date of sale.
