There were about a dozen of us who went, and witnessed an entertaining 3-1 win for Corinthians. Although it was a decent game in terms of the number of chances etc, the quality of football was pretty poor.

As Dave says, the quality of the football was dreadful, but it got me out of the house, some fresh air into my lungs and perked me up a bit from that stuffed Christmas feeling, plus we put a few extra quid in Rothwell's coffers, and boy, do they ever need it at the moment.

As was mentioned at the match, our lads now are technically better than what was on display, but they'd be kicked into the middle of next week !!

Aprt from Birdy and one or two others maybe I dont see many AFC players being able to compete in the UCL next season. You will definately need some more strikers as the ones whom has played the last few games wouldnt score you many goals unfortunately.

The idea for next season is to have a core of experienced players in the side, with a few of this year's youth lads hopefully progressing into the squad alongside them. I agree that there are only 2 or 3 in the current squad that are likely to be up to the physical challenge of the UCL, but the good thing is most of our lads still have another year or two as a youth player.
