That may be the case but, in this instance, I don't think that money within the consortium would be the issue. Each would bring something 'to the table' so to speak as a contribution and, whilst it is true that the group are not the best of friends, in this case there are good solid commercial benefits to each of them which would have encouraged them to get involved.
Time will tell, at the moment its just a few pieces suddenly falling into place.

They reckon football could be sustainable still at this level with crowds of 800.
Crowds of 800 would.keep Nene Park sustainable   Probably with around £30 entrance Someone,s having a laugh

Sounds to me like you're very well informed Chammie, personally I wouldn't trust any of them and I'm glad we're rid of them - its unforgivable what they've done, made me feel sorry for Ploppy fans......unforgiveable ;)
Raising awareness of Motor Neurone Disease RIP Dale Roberts - gone, but never forgotten!!

Their fan base is in total disarray at present. They have been waiting on their Trust to do something.
Why fans havn't organised a Fans Action Group and arranged an open meeting to agree a way forward is beyond me. To think that some wise arsed Ploppy came on this forum last June and said that we had allowed our Club to die!
Judging by the way they are running around like headless chickens at present I wouldn't think they have the energy, desire and more importantly the wherewithal to set up a Phoenix club if KTFC are no more.

I think they are a bit embarrassed on Poppynet that they can't muster the sort of support that Darlington have achieved for their plight. Darlo have already had a lot of national publicity, generous donations, some heartfelt messages about their history, and the general sympathy of the football community at large.
Apparently the Poppies planned protest at the Luton game was an embarrassment.
It was clear at their initial meeting about the move to Nene Park that most of their fanbase just wanted the ability to relax in a nice stadium like Nene Park - whatever the cost. I can't see many of them turning out to watch an AFC club at the likes of Bugbrooke or Cogenhoe as we've seen already for the AFC RD Youth Team.
I think that they have many older supporters who, without access to the internet, and only pick up news from the ET/Radio Northampton and still havn't fully grasped the true extent of their plight.
I'm sure that it will all change should KTFC go under - they would rally together then and I have no doubt they would unite and successfully raise a phoenix club. It's very difficult to get the support for it whilst the original club is still going - although it may well be in their best interest to move on anyway. It's much easier to believe all the BS and lies and/or just plain hope for the best than have to face the reality that you will lose your club.
Can't help but feel for them despite the the desire to give a big FCUK YOU to the ones that revelled in our downfall. I don't want to see them go but it all went horribly wrong some time ago for them and for us and I can't help but feel that our downfalls comes back to certain people. Would K*ttering be where they are now if it wasn't for our former owner ? As I have said before - either IL's incompetent and been had big time or he's willingly played his part in a grander scheme.

I'm sure the move to NP has worsened their position a bit quicker than if they had remained at the Rockinghorse but they would be only 15 months away from the lease expiring in any event. The landlord there was looking for a substantial increase in the current rent which may have actually been similar to the reported £150k per annum for using NP, without the opportunity of commercial activity these premises could make if marketed correctly. My own thoughts are that Ben Pickering and family were looking to get the ground vacated to enable the site sold to a developer to coincide with a possible upturn in the residential market over the next 2-3 years. Pickering's son has always viewed RR as part of his pension pot. ;)
