Really can't see the point in them doing this, other than the obvious points reason. Even if they were voted in, Chester would surely need a miracle to complete the season, they can't afford to pay the players, staff, police, bills or even the bus company to take them to away matches. The whole situation gets more and more ridiculous.

The points thing is the exact reason! There may also be a small amount of thinking they are helping, but just look at a similar situation with West Ham and Pompey. David Gold has offered to loan Pompey 10mil to keep them in business, mainly becase West Ham can't afford to lose the 4 points they have taken off them!
