I think that basically tells us that the re-naming of the terrace wasn't insisted upon by KC, but to do with marketing. :evil:Diamond White wrote:I did like the comment that the landlord will let us rename whatever stand/room we want.......................As long as we pay the rent!!!!

Re: Desperate measures.....
'whats the point?' is the the most popular thread on there right now and only a fool would disagree with that mentality (although theres still a deluded few), they know there's no way of NP being sustainable below BSP, its barely sustainable in the BSP ffs, its the same story as it was for us, the only way they'll survive is with someone who's happy to pump money into a blackhole, it amazes me that once again more muppets are going on about sweating the facilities blah blah, things have been tried in the past and not worked, so why would it be any different now? Huge debts and ongoing costs, prospect of relegation and GR at the club, I really struggle how any of them can see even the slightest bit of hope now.
I see the phoenix club idea has been put out once again (and been largely ignored of course!) and as much as I dislike them, I just pray they'd see some sense and start at least planning and preparing for a new club, rather waiting around forever for the inevitable. I just don't see what their problem with the phoenix club idea is, are they completely blind to our positive situation, sure we're going to be playing in fields and against clubs with 50 supporters and they mock us for that and the youth football this season (no offence to any UCl clubs) but its a lot better than the sh*t they've had and are putting up with.

Re: Desperate measures.....
What is "history" anyway? Their fans always champion "history" and loads of the ex-league clubs always bleat on about "their history". Surely you don't need to be K*ttering Town FC Ltd to have that history though? The same way we have the history of R&DFC, RTFC and IDFC, even though we're not any of those anymore. Isn't it about memories, rather than just the name?

Re: Desperate measures.....
There is a real divide over there isn't there, those that see a phoenix side as the only way forward and those that believe to throw themselves behind trying to salvage the existing club while its still alive and kicking, but in a place they don't really want to be.
I guess in some ways thats where we were lucky, the decision was made for us, it was the end of the season, no way of galvanising the support at games, no opportunity to save the old club, it was just gone, almost overnight. I wonder if the same thing had arisen at the same time of the season for us if things wouldn't have gone the same way, a real divide in the fans about the way forward.
I'm more convinced than ever that something very special is being created with AFCRD - a true community club that will, in months/years to come, really reach out into the community it serves with the onus on giving young players the opportunity to enjoy the game and progress upwards if their abilities permit, or just enjoy playing football if it doesn't.
Reading everything on Ploppynet makes me feel glad to be rid of all the deceit and wheeling and dealing that goes on at a club at that level. I still feel the supporters over there are being sold a pup and they'll end up throwing good money after abd, I guess time will tell. I hope for their sakes that Plan B is ready, because they'll have no chance if things blow up for them after the end of the season and they have to start from scratch.
213 there last night according to Ploppynet - would have thought a club with all that history could have mustered more eh? ;)

Re: Desperate measures.....
Me too, I think we are at the start of building something more than bricks and mortar but a blueprint that will be used up and down the country in years to come. SRJFC pioneered a child centred approach to football, uniting with AFC gives our players, present and future, aspirations and Senior teams a ready made influx of players who can play football in the right way.PigmanRDFC wrote:I'm more convinced than ever that something very special is being created with AFCRD - a true community club that will, in months/years to come, really reach out into the community it serves with the onus on giving young players the opportunity to enjoy the game and progress upwards if their abilities permit, or just enjoy playing football if it doesn't.
If KTFC don't wake up and see it soon then they are doomed

Re: Desperate measures.....
I think that is a testament to our supporters, that more have turned up to support our youth team, than K*ttering fans who want to save their club. I think that says more about their "fans" than anything else.

Every time I see one of them talk about the 'Dale Roberts Stand' I fume inside. Cynical bastards.
