Only on a Sunday so there are more days of the week Including Sat am
Boxing nights
Ladies night
Wedding Fares / shows same as Wickstead park
Clairvoyant nights as GR wife is doing Vince price tickets are £6 a head
Antique fares
Cover the pitch for large music events Ie party in the poppies park
use the car park M-F Truck stop secured with or without food / Breakfast better than A14 lay-by
Weddings
Restaurants good ones can make £8k a week

the list is endless

Oh yes Football on the occasional Saturday
Excellent post on Poppy Net, I love how they think these things will just happen over night, it smacks of desperation and they seem to think if you plan an event it will be sold out and a huge success.

Start a restaurant, bang, make it a good one, bang, £8k a week!

Nobody on there or here though has really mentioned the biggest flaw to the plans -

If the Diamonds couldn't make it work when we were getting 4,000 plus fans for every home game and the Diamonds Center had a healthy list of booked events why will a team not even playing in there own town, with a fan base of just 1,000 at a ground now best described as a dump with no staff make it work.

Renaming the PDB was always a shitty backhanded stab at placating ex R&d fans, pretending it was some kind of tribute to Dale was disgusting and opportunistic.

Renaming and rebranding Nene Park is ultimately futile, the ground reeks of R&D, the ghost of Duane Darby stalks the corridors and the grim reaper masked in an Onandi Lowe shroud hovers, teetering like a nasty mutha fucker ready to piss on George Rolls' moribund and tawdry band of deluded charlatans and nay-Sayers.

Sara Pascoe wrote:Basically this all means that Desperate Measures can continue into next season, I look forward to laughing at their attempts to "sweat the facilities" in the Blue Square North.

Max Griggs, Helen Thompson, Keith Cousins and Imraan Ladak all said they were going to "sweat the facilities" and none of them could manage it. How many more chairmen are going to say it before it becomes clear that it isn't viable.
That's a fair point - although one might argue that the Max Griggs era did generate significant revenue from the Nene Park facilities (even if the profit made might not have been significant due to generous pricing policies).

However, to make the best of the Nene Park facilities Max had to engage a large "management team" to control each of these facilities - for example if you look at the "who's who" at the club during our first season in the Football League, you would have seen the following roles :

Operations Manager / Safety Officer
Stadium Manager
Personnel Officer
Finance Manager
Marketing Manager
Corporate Sales Manager
Communications Manager
Community Officer
Stadium Service Manager
Sports & Exhibition Centre Manager
Seasons Bistro Manager
Duty Manager
Conference & Banqueting Manager
Retail and Marketing Manager
Catering Manager
Acting Grounds Manager

I'd guess by the final season of R&DFC those roles that were still being filled required the few remaining staff to wear many different hats.

He said: “Forget Rushden and Diamonds, they don’t exist. Let’s get rid of everything to do with them and make it all about K*ttering.

f*** me! Even Ladak, despite desperately underestimating the size of the task, realised his only chance of success was to try and placate and embrace R&D fans. Renaming the PDB, talking up the old club at conference meetings and giving away tickets in local schools were all attempts at not pissing off the locals. I can't work out who's the bigger ****, Ladak for thinking we could be turned, or Rolls for ignoring us completely?

Also if you nudge the ghost of Onandi and ask him slyly, he'll get you some gear from inside his ghost Ferrari. :D

The comment that most intrigued me from last night's Twitter feed was 'the budget will be the same whatever division [they're] playing in'. They've got to fork out £22.5k on the ground each month and still find ~£20k a month for players as well. That adds up to over £500k for the season that will have to be found, not forgetting they have to service a debt of £425k.

He's clearly a dodgy bloke and with the above facts I'm amazed none of them thought to ask 'Actually why the F are you here George?!'

Does anyone recall what the size of the bond that was required for us to be able to compete in the Conference? Was it £350k? Even if the Conference ask K*ttering for a £100k bond at the AGM it would be hard to see where they'd get the money from. You would think the Conference would have major doubts over their ability to see the 2012/13 season through with RoLOLs at the helm and debts of £500k.

I'm not sure how far that was progressed - but Wrexham had to find a £250K bond as well as a credible business plan and proof of creditor payments - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-nort ... s-14431544

Here's an interesting thread. I wonder if the Lithuranians will pitch up at NP?
