Senior Youth League results 14th/15th March 2012

Post by AndyKirkup »

Don't know if people have been following the results but an entertaining couple of days in the NSYL.

I bet Olney-Spencer was a good game! Also according to R&HUFC's website they played mostly Under 16s last night and they couldn't cope against what we found ourselves to be a physical Corinths team.

In our division we now can't catch Chenecks in the battle for second place and indeed can mathematically only finish 3rd, 4th or 5th. We should therefore be supporting Chenecks when they play Woodford (sorry Woodford Dad) and also probably be hoping that both Kempston and Woodford slip up elsewhere (and probably draw with each other).

Who said youth football was dull? You certinaly can't beat it for goals per £1 entrance fee (unless you spend your time watching Rothwell Town in which case it's a close run thing!)

Eynesbury Rovers 4 - 0 Thrapston Town

"R&H were playing nine mainly under 16 players with just two who would be too old next season. As a result they were out muscled if not kicked out of the game by a full under 18 opposition. What had started as a season full of promise, destroyed by the immoral, if not illegal in FA terms, use by a college sponsored side of our registered players in the FA Youth Cup ended with its worst home defeat for a side with an average age two years less than that which had commenced the campaign."
Sounds like RC used the same tactics as when we played the.
I notice we play Rothwell Corinthians in that sheild thing.

We've got Chaventry again next week, at our place. Thoroughly expect to beat them.

Ear, BTW - can't you lot do a Wimbledon and move a bit closer to Leamington rather than to Wellingboro. next season?
My lad is looking for another team, but travelling round trips of 80-odd miles, on average, twice a week , at current fuel prices, is not really an option.
