Desperate measures.....
Re: Desperate measures.....
I commentated at NP today and boy was it dire! The worst game I've seen this season and on that performance K*ttering would struggle in the Southern League. No passion, no structure and no chance of staying up. They could not defend a set piece to save their lives. No wonder their manager was angry! They are all in for training tomorrow.
Forget the attendance figure - it was 750 if that. So much 4 2500!
I do feel sorry for their fans who do seem on the whole realistic. The majority of them seem to have given up the ghost and are just waiting to find out which league they will be playing in next season!

I listened to a bit of the second half, you sounded bored Chris! ;)Pressman wrote:I commentated at NP today and boy was it dire! It looks like they might have found a way of avoiding VAT on ticket sales.... http://www.ketteringtownfc.co.uk/story.php?story_id=986
Not sure what they mean by the minimum fee - everyone was admitted for free for our game at Wrexham.
Never was the title of this thread more appropriate.

Re: Desperate measures.....
I see that they kick off at 3.00pm on Tuesday according to their OWS. That will do wonders for their attendance.

Re: Desperate measures.....
Just seen this on the Weymouth forum from some of the new people in charge there about the previous regime!
"A statement will be forthcoming but to be completly honest we are still only part of the way to clearing the chaos but together with the Bank we are forming a true picture
And we all promise that the truth will be shown along with evidence to all shareholders, fans , police etc etc
We are sad it has come to this but we are united in our horror and shock at what we are uncovering.
It is not so much money as we expected that but the total disregard for the law and the standard business ethics."

You have to wonder who is picking the Poppies team now. Max York wasn't good enough to get more than a consolation game in the Hillier Cup for the Diamonds in a whole season at Nene Park, and when I saw him play for Bedford Town he looked pretty mediocre even at that level - yet he comes in and starts for them yesterday.
I wonder if the fact he was taken off at half-time might affect possible investments ...

Think you've knocked the nail on the head there, proberbly just threw him in and realised he's out of his depth at that level.Formic wrote:You have to wonder who is picking the Poppies team now. Re: Desperate measures.....
Looks like they are as organised throughout the club
"Went down with the brother in law to watch the nephew play for kett at Corby Kingswood , What a bloody shambles they played Colchester .Their coach was saying that this was the worst set up that they had played at,No place for a cup of drink or bite to eat and they had travelled 2 hours. Brother in law tells me that they don't really have a proper coach and they train with another age group and the coach can have up to 20 plus boys. The pitch was like a ploughed field and I,ve seen better watching my lad on a sat down north park and they pay for the privilege , the top man as he says turned up for literally 4/5 mins and then disappeared . I thought it was only the 1st team that was disorganised, think he will jack it in in may. So it probably runs from the 1st team downwards, although I told him that the 18s&21s are doing ok?
By what I read on here thought youth was doing well

Re: Desperate measures.....
Corby Kingswood play on the park opposite the BP Garage at the Cottingham Roundabout, think Spencer Park but bigger. I'm not surprised the ColU coach was hacked off.
