Today?
What's everyone got planned for this afternoon then? I'm going to watch St Neots hopefully wrap up the league title against North Greenford. There should be a crowd of at least 750 I reckon.

Re: Today?
Stoke Gabriel v Crediton United
Stoke hoping to secure second spot in South West Peninsula League Division One East with a win (and virtually a gimme against Ottery St. Mary next week).
Could still go up, if Liverton fail to secure planning permission for their floodlights because of the environmental impact upon the local bat population. God bless local football.

Re: Today?
I'm sure the thousands of Liverton fans will be outraged if the bats deny them promotion
What kind of crowds do they get down there?

Re: Today?
Liverton don't get very many at all - they had a low of 10 for a game this season, but an average of 40-odd.
The mighty Stoke have an average of 70-odd, with a 145 turning up for the big local derby v Galmpton.
In the Premier, Buckland of Newton Abbott will finish second but be promoted to the Western League on gates of 150 on a good day.
The best part is that Cornish teams generally draw very well in Cup Finals and midweek games - 500-1000 for the Cornish Senior Cup is not unheard of apparently. Football fans unite when nothing else to watch!

Re: Today?
St Neots won 8-0 against a very poor North Greenford United, how they beat Slough earlier in the season I'll never know, they just seemed to lose interest when they went 2-0 down.

I went along to St Neots too - and enjoyed the game, despite it being so one-sided. I was very impressed with Dan Jacob their speedy forward, who started on the left wing, scoring one and making one in the first half, and then moved into the middle to score two more in the second half.
I tried to find out a bit more about him, as he looked a decent prospect, but St Neots still don't have a functioning website (inexcusable when you've just won the league title), but a quick google brings up a story where he left the club for disciplinary reasons earlier in the season - so obviously there has been some kind of a reconciliation.

If Jacob was consistant he'd be playing at a higher level. Unfortunately 1 game in every 4/5 he is infuriating.Formic wrote:I went along to St Neots too - and enjoyed the game, despite it being so one-sided.
