Re: UCL Division One...
well done to all concerned for getting the club up and running again with Saturday football
Re: UCL Division One...
The constitution of our division will not be confirmed until after the UCLs AGM. As a new club we have been informed by the FA of our destination, but as far as I know the other issues are not yet resolved.
If Harrowby United are still interested (and the Grantham League do not object) i imagine their election would be a formality.
The Oadby Town situation is quite interesting, they were very keen to join the UCL rather than the Midland Alliance, and had they finished in the top 2 of the East Midlands League, would almost certainly have been in the Premier Division next season. They finished 3rd which is a bit of a grey area as it is sometimes possible to be promoted from that position if either of the top 2 do not go up in a step 6 league. Whether they would want/ be allowed to join Division 1 I have no idea, but if they did the 2 best supported sides in the league would both be in the lower division
It has also been suggested around non-league forums and clubs, that it would make a lot of sense for the whole of Leicestershire to fall into the UCL footprint, this would involve knock on effects for quite a few clubs and leagues, so I doubt it will happen this year.
Finally, I'm not sure if Harborough got their ground improvements completed by the deadline, if not Bugbrooke will be promoted rather than them.

Nearly all decided then - no Rothwell or Bugbrooke for sure, possibly no Harborough either.

By my calculations we have the easiest travel schedule in the division next year along with the other Wellingborough side: http://stattosoftware.com/football/dist ... yr=2012-13

It always seems to be like that for us, I like how even in the United Counties we're still in the middle geographically. And those distances are great, only 2 clubs are more than 20 miles away, 6 within 10 miles and our entire travelling distance for the season is less than quite a few BSP games like Barrow or Gateshead on their own, so no reason why we can't get get 200+ for every away gameTimbersDiamond wrote:By my calculations we have the easiest travel schedule in the division next year along with the other Wellingborough side: http://stattosoftware.com/football/dist ... yr=2012-13

Hmm not sure how many of those have train stations nearby (apart from Northampton/Wellingborough). Next season is going to be bustastic.
P.S If we're not taking at least 300 to each away game I will be OUTRAGED! ;)
