I find it really hard to gauge how many we're likely to get, its a real unknown isn't it? There are loads of reasons why pre-seasons are poorly attended, I won't even be at Saturday's game as I'm away in Norfolk babysitting my 10 month old grandson so can't get there !!

Personally I'd be really disappointed if we got less than 200 for Saturday's game, delighted if we got 300 or close to it.

I'd like to think that by the time we started the season proper we'd get in excess of 400, fingers crossed.........but then I am a born pessimist ;)

Venturing into Ploppies territory are we? :D

I'm with Jim, and also find it difficult to predict what we may get although I don't usually take in pre-season friendlies but this is one that I don't want to miss. :(

Have just spoken to a friend in Wellboro and he had no idea there is a friendly tomorrow at the D&D He,along with his son and grandson are life long fans of R&D (they are not PC users) and therefore have no idea about forthcoming games etc. Not sure about the districts covered by the NVNews but I notice R&Higham FC have used this form of media in the past and wondered if it would be cost affective to use the same source.Seems a shame that we could lose fans because without the ET they have no information.Understand this may have been mentioned on another thread,if so,my apologies !

They also have 2 banners, on the way to Bedford & Wellingborough, advertising themselves.

Two Banners where?
On a roundabout coming out of Rushden, towards Bedford, and on another roundabout near Croyland Motors on the way to Wellingborough (unless they've both been taken down or something...)

Cool, I don't often go out that way so wasn't aware.

Looks like we may need to do a bit more marketing perhaps then if people aren't aware. Perhaps we should put together a thread asking for suggestions about how to notify people.

Emailing club members seems to be a no-brainer, do we have the old R&D ticketing database. If so we should have people there (although doubt they will all have emails).

Then I guess it's putting flyers up (which is already being done) in popular places - supermarkets, pubs, etc.

Do the local radio stations say anything about us - could we get a free bit of PR there?

I think stamboy said in an earlier thread they were going to see you or Tony in the Club Shop tomorrow to introduce themselves. Am sure you can then point him at the relevant contacts as required.
