[ Thursday 12th July ] 50 Shades of Grey Concrete!

Post by Dazzler »

Earlier this evening, the concrete went into the area behind the goal, and Dale's Bar area.
Thanks again to all the volunteers for helping, along with the concrete suppliers!

I'm going to have to change my "View from the Terrace" articles, to "View from the Concrete" until the new stand is in place 8-)

Great work everyone

I personally don't think the achievement of getting this work done has received enough praise to be honest.

WELL DONE to all who turned up last night and laid the concrete. I couldn't make it due to other commitments, but getting that all done in one evening is one hell of an achievement and a debt of gratitude is owed by the club to all the guys, some of whom aren't even Diamonds fans, who turned up and worked so hard to get it done.

We're still a little way off getting everything the way we want it to be down at the D&D, but this was a massive step in the right direction.

Thanks guys - take a bow, you deserve it !! :D

I'd like to second that Jim,
What has been achieved in such a short space of time, has been nothing short of miraculous, I hope the fans who came to watch the U18's games at the D&D notice the difference? 8-)

I do all that for a living so I know how hard it would be to get that all done . Some cubic meters of conc in there. Lads from DK concreting? Before anyone says why didn't I help it's because I have been doing 6 days a week at the mo so .

Brilliant ! Just wish I was 30 years younger and healthier and didn,t feel so embarassed to stand back and see all the hard work carried out by you guys, a BIG pat on the back and a BIG well done which I am sure would be echoed by our elder and more infirm fans who I am sure their heads would be willing but their bodies object ! Well done all .

That's what is great about the current fanbase we have. We cover a large range of ages, and there is something that everyone can get involved in.
