I thought the first half was an eye-opener for me personally, and perhaps a 'welcome to the UCL' for a few of our lads. Thrapston soaked up pressure and generally just booted the ball up field when the opportunity presented itself, which lead to a couple of great chances for them. We seem very susceptible to a ball over the top which needs addressing IMO, it happened repeatedly last week too.

Second half was a different ball game as I predicted. I'm not sure if it's our fitness or Starm's team talk! We tore them to bits for the vast majority of it and in all honesty should have had a few more.

The best bit of the day for me was the attendance, but more importantly, the matchday experience. We were always going to get a decent crowd today (although in my wildest dreams I didn't think we'd get beyond 600), but the key to getting people through the gates on a weekly basis is by making it a great event. Today that was achieved, and then some. The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic.

MOM was Merrill without question he was IMMENSE. On to Wootton next week. Who's going? ;)

First time at the D&D for me and I thought it looked awesome. The area to the right of the terrace was really neat and there's even a play-area for kids behind the far goal. How much would it cost to hire a bouncy castle for that end?! Come onnnnn!

Oh and Mr Chairman, learn another song. ;)

Oh and I'm going to Wootton, two buses to get there but I don't mind that after today. Do you think we could be the first team to go through the whole season at the top of their league? Our prefix now makes that much easier. ;)

It's a shame there's so long until our next home game, I hope it doesn't make any of the 784 forget their experience today. :)

Sileby - who I think are going to be a big threat this season - beat Harrowby 3-2 today.

Unfortunately I couldn't get over, was working at the Umbrella Fair, but what a fantastic start to the campaign. Very well done to everyone involved in getting the club to this point, you should all be very proud and deserve a beer out in the sunshine :D

I've absolutely no idea if I'm honest, I know that Sileby and Oadby are decent, but other than that don't know anything about the rest of the league

Also one slight downer today (though I did expect it to happen and I understand why) was that I wasn't able to get hold of a programme for our first ever game, admittedly I got there a bit late but still would have liked one, will any more be printed?

Fantastic result, fully deserved the win on our second half performance... Nothing got past Chris Hope all day.

It was baking hot! Great day, and great to see so many old faces! :)

Great day - felt just like the good old days. I'm gutted I'm off to Uni, as I won't be able to make more games this season, but I'll be following keenly from afar! Regarding the game, I thought we were really poor first half, if Jordan Cross could finish we would of been done and dusted early on. However, all 3 goals in the Second Half were well worked and in the end we deserved the comprehensive win!

Thought Alfie Taylor was by far the best player on the pitch. If we lose him I feel we may struggle for goals.

Well done to all who made today possible :D
