Corby bloody lost again! I thought my fiver on them to win the league with 22 points added (every team gets points added - apart from Chester and Halifax) at 16/1 was a good bet. Brackley were +12, it'll be interesting to see if they can keep that form going. I heard on the radio earlier that they've got Corcoran and Hatswell as new signings, clearly splashing the cash (and not learning from what happened to us...).
Brackley have been splashing the cash for ages, anyone got a clue who's behind it?

Be surprised if that ground is allowed in the BSP it's bloody awful.
Seen references to this guy being involved. Heard it was someone who attended school in the town.

Apart from the nice clubhouse the ground wasn't up to much when we visited it for a friendly 5 years ago and looking at photos it still isn't as good as the Dog & Duck.

They will need financial backing to continue at this level with gates of only 303.

I'm actually in danger of feeling a little sorry for them now. It's akin to stumbling across a grieving family reading poppynet these days. They really are suffering, and this is born out by the fact that most of the sniping at us has ceased to be replaced with near jealousy. Shit, I think if thier fans could actually get themselves organised I might actually be in favour of us offering asvice and assistance.

The second bit of the interview with Sadact is now on the ET site and the fool is still bleating on about £420k owed by last seasons sponsor, says he will get the mony in court and everthing will be OK.
If he does get the money it should go straight to the creditors!!!

Reference to earlier discussions it is indeed Allan Leighton, ex Asda and Royal Mail boss, who is the financial muscle behind Brackley Town and regarding their ground I have found this statement:-

"Brackley's St James' Park ground has undergone a transformation over the summer in order to meet the ground grading requirements of the Conference. But chairwoman Sara Crannage says there is plenty more to be done... 'We've got three large projects which we're trying to complete at the moment, so we're very busy with planning applications... We're realistic enough to know it's a big step for us, but it's an exciting time for the club'".

Brackley has a population of less than 15,000 according to the latest census so I find it difficult to see how they expect to grow their fan base.

Neither can I, even in a championship season average attendance was only just above 300 was it not?

I can't see them pulling many in from Oxford, Northampton or MK can you?

There are an original Diamonds MkII - except without the hardcore fan base and stadium.

I hope Leighton has deep pockets for the sake of their fans.

I hope he builds a very basic stadium as well. If you're going to build one, do it like Crawley's or maybe Burton's, rather than the grandeur of Nene Park. At least make sure that when you get bored they're not going to be crippled by running costs.

Oh and on Poppynet some are starting to come round to the KFC idea, good on them. Once KTFC dies I won't really see KFC as the same enemies. We both deserve to get back to where we were before Ladak and Cousins started ****ing around.

The Poppies situation now seems to have become a mirror of what happened at Darlington.

- A chairman who keeps on saying he wants to hand the club over (but never quite does).
- A Supporters Group that hands over money to keep the club afloat only to find it would have been better investing this money into a new club
- A millstone ground that is far too big for the crowds attracted
- A Landlord at the ground that appears to have redevelopment motives.
- A club that has been through a CVA and yet still seems to struggle to pay bills, despite many creditors having already lost money.
- A team that doesn't get paid on time.

The Poppies fans need to form a new Supporters Group if they don't think their Trust is doing the right things, and then contact the Darlo Supporters and take their advice on how to avoid making the same mistakes they did.

Yeah, I'd find it very difficult to hate KFC as they would have suffered like we did and made efforts for a phoenix club just like we've done and I'd love to see us be in the same league as them, would be a great spectacle for the UCL to have AFC Diamonds against KFC and I can see us both battling our way up the pyramid, it would be pretty exciting. But I'd certainly have a hell of a lot of respect for them if they did actually say enough is enough and act before KTFC goes bust like the Chester fans did.

Oh and does anyone have a link to KFC's site and forum? Google just comes up with ktfc and kfc.
