Question...
Can anyone tell me how many teams are promoted from UCL Div One?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Re: Question...
I'd be interested in seeing your source for that. The Godfather wrote:2.
Last season 3 teams were invited to go up - although third placed Bugbrooke then declined to go up - but that invite might have been as a result of the pressure on the UCL to increase numbers in the UCL Premier in line with new FA directives.
Re: Question...
I think the UCL were a bit desperate last year with Spencer requesting demotion and Thrapston refusing a reprive. They therefore allowed the top 3 to seek promotion. In the end the FA solved their problem by unexpectedly allocating Quorn and Shepshed to the league.
In the past a maximum of 2 clubs have been promoted, if 1st or 2nd can't go up promotion is then offered to the 3rd placed club. I would think that will be the case again this season.

Re: Question...
Just looked at the UCL handbook, rule 13.4 :

Pretty much what I just wrote, but explained more clearly

Re: Question...
I can't see a defined reason within that rule why a third placed team would be invited up from Division 1 if the first two are eligible / willing to go up (which they were). I still believe it was a discretionary thing that isn't specifically defined.Sid wrote:Just looked at the UCL handbook, rule 13.4 :

Re: Question...
I agree it was a discretionary thing. I would think it's unlikely to happen again, particularly if the FA are begining to see Leicestershire as being in the UCL area and push more of that counties clubs in our direction.
