I shan't be going to this, a first for me, I couldn't care less if we lost. In fact, I think i'd rather we lost because the prospect of more league games being rescheduled to accommodate this Micky Mouse Cup frustrates me.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Same for me I think, I'll be donating my fiver so the club doesn't lose out but I do hope we lose the match. Winning means I'll miss out on important league matches because I can't really do midweeks. I also think it's financially beneficial to lose this game.BartonRaz wrote:I shan't be going to this, a first for me, I couldn't care less if we lost. What's the point of having a league cup and a county cup and then deciding the league finishes on April 1st?! It's not like UCL1 has playoffs to fit in! They're just ensuring fixture congestion, imagine if we went deep into the LC, the CC and the Vase and had a few postponements and then factor in the ground share!

Not 100% sure if I'll be going to the game against Whitworths either.

I'll be there, a match on a Saturday afternoon whatever the competition attracts me after a year of no football. If you have nothing better do to get down and support the team, we all knock plops fans for their crap support!

Same for me - I'm just pleased we're playing football again on a Saturday afternoon !! These Cup games give us the chance to play squad players and see what they can do. I think its important that as many people as possible get along to the games to show these lads what our football club means to us.TheIncognitoKid wrote:I'll be there, a match on a Saturday afternoon whatever the competition attracts me after a year of no football. Absolutely, if I could make it, I would - certainly wouldn't be snobby about games in any competition (mind you, I never have been really). That said, I understand why some would like us to lose.Pigman wrote:Same for me - I'm just pleased we're playing football again on a Saturday afternoon !! Completely agree, the fact a home league game that would have attracted 600 or so has to be rescheduled for a game that may only get 200 in a county cup with teams that don't even have floodlights is extremely irritating. Especially considering what SP said, cup competitions and the inevitable mass of postponements due to the weather between December and February/March could mean quite a backlog. I see the usefulness of the competition for the younger/fringe players of course but that sort of game should be midweek.BartonRaz wrote:I shan't be going to this, a first for me, I couldn't care less if we lost. Will still go, as it'll be the last chance for me to see the team in action before I go back to uni, but am disappointed its not going to be a proper league game.

Well I always want us to win every game, wether it's first team, youth, ladies whatever. I'll be there if I can get back to Wellingborough in time.Sara Pascoe wrote:Same for me I think, I'll be donating my fiver so the club doesn't lose out but I do hope we lose the match. What makes you say the league finishes on 1st April? Went on into May last season, same again this time I should think. There is no real finishing date at this level, I don't think it's so much of an issue with so few contract players, it's more often a case of blank saturday's as you have run out of fixtures early, unless there is a bad winter.
