As we witnessed there was zero maintenance/upgrading to the expensive facilities at Nene Park since Max decided to put the club up for sale in October 2003. There was no hope in 'sweating' the facilities and competing with local hotel/conference complexes given the fact that the whole complex at NP was starting to show it's age and was looking very tatty. Hotels and other such establishments regularly embark on a programme of refurbishing their facilities to ensure that their customers maintain their patronage.Biggles wrote:The End game is nigh, i do believe that there are potential investors/buyers as the Nene park Complex always attracts interest however given the neglect over the past few years the whole place will cost a shed load of money, not just the purchase figure from KC but the costs to update the plant and renevate the complex.

I was at the car boot on Sunday (yes don't shoot me!). Anyhow water was literally pouring out of the Diamonds Centre first floor pipe, gallons of the stuff. Now I'm no plumber but a seller said it had been like that for ages. Must be racking up a few quid in bills on Anglian Water!!

They will be on Business rates, they do not have a meter, anyway won't be long before the water is cut off anyway.stamboy wrote:I was at the car boot on Sunday (yes don't shoot me!). Facilities Management was never Helen Thompson's strongest point. I don't think the leaking urinals in the mens toilets adjacent to Strikers Bar, that I personally reported to her 5 years ago, were ever repaired.stamboy wrote: Anyhow water was literally pouring out of the Diamonds Centre first floor pipe, gallons of the stuff.

For me I think it's probably going to be my final visit to NP this weekend, can't see the club lasting another week.

Similarly, it would be funny if Sausage has outsmarted both Ladak and Cousins by his long sub-lease on the Diamond Centre thus meaning he needs to be bought off before any development can be done - for example the proposed hotel was to use some of the Diamond Centre for restaurants / meeting rooms etc.Biggles wrote:The End game is nigh, i do believe that there are potential investors/buyers as the Nene park Complex always attracts interest however given the neglect over the past few years the whole place will cost a shed load of money, not just the purchase figure from KC but the costs to update the plant and renevate the complex.
Also you have the Sausage problem, he controls the Diamond center with know doubt a long Sub lease from Sadact so that reduces any new owners use of the facilities and would you want Sausage as a Tenant dragging you good name through the mud.
Then again there are many plonkers with money out there and Football seems to send many Business people soft in the head, nothing would surprise me nowdays in the Saga of KTFC.

I'm not sure about that.
I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me that any "sub" lease must be dependent - literally - on the main lease: so if that fails, then anything "attached" to that particular branch of that particular poisoned tree must surely fall with it?

If "finedon_dave" is real (which I'm not sure about) then it's worth remembering that he was one of the few RDFC fans (or should I say, Nene Park fans) who decided to go and watch KTFC. When they do go bust I think that we should all stop for a moment and reflect on how bad the Nene Park fans will be feeling. Presumably they'll still turn up every Saturday hoping that someone will be on the turnstile so they can hand over their £12 to go inside and look at their lovely stadium...Trek wrote:finedon_dave wrote:Probably about 1000+ local football fans that will be at the game.elvis wrote:Who gives a shit how many is at Hayden Rd.

Perhaps they could form a 'Nene Park Appreciation Society'. Cousins should be elected President with Mrs Thompson the Secretary. Finedon Dave could organise social functions. ;)Sara Pascoe wrote:......and reflect on how bad the Nene Park fans will be feeling. Perhaps a couple of hundred of us should pop down to their home game on Saturday and stand outside singing "you're supposed to be at home" or summat ? :lol:Trek wrote:Perhaps they could form a 'Nene Park Appreciation Society'.
