There is no promotion or relegation, the top team in each league play each other at the end of the season to decide who wins the trophy over all. Teams drop out and enter the leagues on a regular basis.

Hopefully the last 'incident' hey coach, wouldn't want you getting a reputation.
Reputation??? Name any other incident that the U18's have been involved in, None!!

Dont tar everyone with the same brush please.

Even to the point someone blamed the U18's for the chanting at the midweek match between the senior sides yet none were there.

All Facts................

I was talking about the club as a whole. Seems these 'incidents' at many levels at your club, and while your banging on about facts, do you have anything to comment following the 'incident' at 3.56 on this video coach?

as i said thought your club was a great little family club but these 'incidents' seem to keep happening at all levels at the club.

As the Manager of the u18's i would admit that we were outplayed by a very good footballing side, but i take offence that the players were highly strung. I admit there was an incident on the highlights of 1 of my players and i will deal with that as i encourage my players to play with respect to the opposition but also to battle for the team. As for another comment saying it starts at the top, believe me when i say thats not the way i coach football and would rather quit than let them get away with silly antics of senior players. I always strive to get the best out of the individuals with limited resources and as long as they are enjoying the game will carry on doing so. I also expect them to accept defeat as well as victory and was happy with the way we conducted ourselves. Last note we had no bookings yet AFC had 2.

Good luck to you for the rest of the season and look forward to our long journey for the away game :D

Hi dean, thank you for your input.
Considering the excitement of the last few weeks, I think that the game was played out well.
Hopefully all this stuff will be forgotten the next time we meet and we can all enjoy a game of football again.

Let's draw a line under events and move on.

Good luck for the rest of the season, with your lads 8-)

I agree Duke, I really enjoyed the game last night, well worth £2.50 !! The U18s are improving with every game and are attracting crowds that many a side would be grateful to get...........even those "big" clubs with 140 years of history behind them ;) :D

I'll second that. I thought it was a really enjoyable game, with a lot of hard but fair tackles flying in. I must say I was a little disappointed with the ref who seemed to blow up for everything which spoilt the game a little at times, but he was obviously aware of the incidents at the senior games (having run the line for the first one) and was perhaps being slightly over zealous in an attempt to keep on top of things and eliminate the possibility of anything spilling over.

The one and only incident, which wasn't much really, was Whitworth's no. 2 cheering right in front of the camera after their first goal (I assume this is what you were referring to Dean). He just made himself look like a bit of a tool, and he actually spoke to a couple of us after the game and admitted that he probably looked like "a bit of a prick" (I think those were his exact words)!

Problem is Dean that when your lads are representing the club and wearing the shirt then they are going to be tarred with the same brush. No doubt the way you do things is different to your joint-managers but more people will have seen they way they act and believe the club is like that.

I've known Julian for years, used to play in the same Sunday side as him, unfortunately my respect for him cannot over come the perception your joint managers gave out on Saturday.

I cannot agree about the `crowds` Jim I`m afraid. I am hugely disappointed with the number attending our u18 games - especially when so many stated publically that they would still support them when the seniors were up and running.

And I speak with experience of managing teams in the past that have `attracted` far bigger crowds than we`re getting now.

Lord knows what we would be getting if we`d continued the form of earlier in the season!

If you actually took away the club officials/directors etc., then there were very few at Whitworths, and that`s a real shame.

It`s extremely difficult obtaining good players at u18 level, and a massive asset for me when talking to potential signings and their parents last season was the fact that I could say that they would be playing in front of 3/4-500 crowds at home and plenty away too.

Now the euphoria of reformation has died down somewhat we are a UCL side the same as Whitworths, Cogenhoe, Wellingborough, Irchester etc., all competing for the same players, and while, yes, we can say that players will be treated well etc., etc, the fact remains that its a level playing field now.

I`ve tasted both sides of this situation, being easy to get players at the likes of Yeovil and K*ttering and slightly easier at Rothwell Town, Wellingborough and then AFC, to being enormously difficult at Desborough, Irchester, Rushden & Higham etc., so can speak with a little authority on this.

I know how hard Deano works in trying to get a decent side for his u18s at Whitworths, and can tell you that he`s one of the few u18 managers who I see around on Sundays watching u16 games.

At one point just before the season started he was worried he wasn`t going to have a side at all, so from what I saw on Tuesday, they did well against us.

Whitworths have had this inner feeling within the club, certainly since 2004 when Wellingborough re-formed, that they are the `little guys` with their `big brother` over the fence and now us as well.

I know from experience how hard they are to play against in the UCL from my days managing at that level. They can`t attract the best players in the area, but always seem to possess a terrific team spirit and will-to-win.

I saw the boy `celebrate` in front of the camera in the u18 game - and really thought nothing of it apart from thinking he looked a bit of a tw*t, but I`m sure we`ve all done some stupid things, but fortunately haven`t had Jon pointing a camera at us at the time!! lol
