I`ve just received a phone call to inform me that Rushden & Higham United`s long-serving secretary Chris Ruff sadly passed away last night.
Chris was a vastly experienced club secretary who served Higham Town for many years before the merger with Rushden Rangers to form Rushden & Higham.
His knowledge and experience was a massive help to me during my time as chairman at Hayden Road and I`m sure all Diamonds fans will join with me in passing on their condolences to Chris` family.
He had been ill and in hospital for a few weeks but ironically was feeling slightly better and targetted tomorrow`s big game for his `comeback`.
There will be a minutes` silence before tomorrow`s game and I hope (and expect) it will be observed with the utmost respect.

Re: Rushden & Higham Secretary
Very sad news. I knew him personally, and only saw him last month. He looked fine then, just shows what can happen... R.I.P.
