oh and what a shame that it was Whitworths record attendance that got beaten.
Re: [ Sat 6th Oct ] v Rushden & Higham Utd KO 3pm AWAY
Was a brilliant day all round. Sun was shining bright, and the performance on the pitch from our lads was top notch as well. Special mentions to Gilly and McBride in the middle of the park, who dominated all day long, won many tackles and sprayed it to all corners of the pitch brilliantly. Gillingwater at RB had a good game too; very adventurous going forward and considering he was out of his natural position, did well defensively as well. First 20 minutes were nip and tuck, and Quincy made a couple of good saves, but our first goal appeared to settle us down and allowed us to dominate for the rest of the game. Could and probably should have been 6 or 7, but I'm not complaining with 4!!
Attendance was nothing short of phenomenal for a step 10 game. The atmosphere was also rocking behind the goal in the 1st half, and was a joy to look round all 4 sides of the pitch lined with Diamonds fans. Was also good to see so many old faces from the old RDFC days, and hopefully the performance of the pitch will encourage some of them to return for future games.
What else to say, apart from 'We've got our club back!!!'
So proud to be an AFC Rushden & Diamonds fan

Such a crowd, Rushden and Higham are now 46th in non-league attendance - with a low of 43: http://www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/global/attendances/
The next best with a low crowd of under 100 are in 191st!

And at the moment their average attendance is 867% up on last season's! Funny how our highest away attendance is higher than our higher home attendance right now, but I suppose that was to be expected being in Rushden.Rushdenjim wrote:R&H are 22 players ABOVE K*ttering  (AFCR&D are 36 places above KTFC)TimbersDiamond wrote:Such a crowd, Rushden and Higham are now 46th in non-league attendance - with a low of 43: http://www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/global/attendances/
