My memories of Andy Woodman were in a match at Nene Park against Oxford United and in the second half we battered them with what seemed like 20 shots on target in the second half alone without getting a victory. Woodman was outstanding that day, unfortunately. :(

I remember that too. I think we lost 2-0 with Oldfield scoring a cracking goal at the Airwair end. I think it is the most one-sided match I have ever seen but we still lost.

Dover was always the best away trip ever, every time we went there was a million stories told about the day.

Any ground where there is a bar over looking the pitch which stays open is always going to be a good trip.

For one tiny ground 160 miles away, the amount of tales is incredible.

I was at the Craddle with 4 or 5 other Diamonds fans that night there was a crash on the M25, most other fans started to turn up towards half time, sure it ended 1-1, Diamonds scored after 7 minutes I think?

The best game though was when we get humped 4-1 in our Championship winning season.

Million tales all involving too much drink but as the designated driver I can categorically state nobody threw a punch at big Nose as he came off the pitch, I know that because I was down in the corner absolutely slating him as he left the pitch, it was perfect verbal diarrhoea :lol:

I have no idea how Mark Lea who reported it in the ET saw a punch being thrown from the other side of the pitch in the press box when there were two entire teams of players walking off blocking his view.

Barnet away, when Broughton got sent off and should have been arrested for assault, in my opinion. Didn't he punch the ball into his own net for 3-0, as well, or was that Scott Shearer at the same ground but for a different game?

No, thinking about it, Shearer did that at Bristol Rovers away, didn't he, not Barnet.

We did have a long succession of potentially good, but actually shit, goalkeepers after Billy, didn't we?

And to think that Simon Parsley, the well known medical herbalist, had a go at me for, among other things, referring to Nicky Eyre and Jamie Young as "Clown Shoes" in my programme notes.

No, thinking about it, Shearer did that at Bristol Rovers away, didn't he, not Barnet.

Young put the ball down in play to launch it upfield not realising there was a Barnet striker behind him. Striker nicked it off his toe and scored into an open net.

Woodman had been outstanding until he was stretchers off that day.

28th December 2002 IIRC. It was freezing.

It was . I remember that time clearly. iT was just before i left as head groundsman tp go to spurs. Diamonds had a home game new years day. I think it may have been shresbury(?) and diamonds won 5-1. Jim (whos groundsman at spurs now and my assistant at that time at diamonds) came round mine new years eve. We had prepared pitch day before so had a couple of new years eve beers with family that night and a couple more ;) . Woke up with a slightly sore head-looked out window-pissing down big time forcast was wrong. Got game on in end . That was a great time to be working at nene park.
