It's being discussed because there was 'zero' atmosphere on Saturday. OK the team didn't fire on all cylinders but our near 700 crowd didn't even get behind the team even at the start. As for 'singers' well they obviously didn't turn up! Very disappointing.Three Nips wrote: I don't know why this is even being discussed really. If you want a bit more atmosphere, take it upon yourself to stir up the crowd instead of relying on us 'singers' to do so.

The lack of atmosphere didn't have anything with Dale's Bar running out of Hart no1, did it? ;)
On a serious note, the supporters aren't automatons. The atmosphere has to be created by the performance on the pitch. This is true at any level of football. Give us something to sing about, and we'll be in full voice!

Probably because everyone was sober or hungover this week and big Tim was on holiday :lol:Trek wrote:It's being discussed because there was 'zero' atmosphere on Saturday. If you have a problem, do something about it! Pointing fingers and blaming fellow fans is hardly the way to go.Trek wrote:It's being discussed because there was 'zero' atmosphere on Saturday. I suggest that on Tuesday night you stand slap bang in the middle of the De Banke with the drum, a megaphone and whatever ever else you need to get the place rocking if it reallly bothers you so much!

I don't have a problem, not pointing fingers but am surprised why the usual fans didn't get behind the team yesterday. As a Senior Citizen I don't think it's my place to act as the cheerleader. ;)Three Nips wrote: If you have a problem, do something about it! Age is just a number! John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood is no spring chicken but he still rings that bell with aplomb!Trek wrote:I don't have a problem, not pointing fingers but am surprised why the usual fans didn't get behind the team yesterday. I think calling it "dross" is rather OTT, personally I found it gripping & frustrating all at once. Ok we didn't play our best stuff but we created a few chances and their keeper was on top form, but that's never going to happen in every game. We go again on Tuesday, our first home league evening game, and they've always had a better atmosphere about them so we'll try harder to get behind our club and raise the team's performance.Three Nips wrote: To be honest with you, it works both ways. If I was watching something that was mildly encouraging rather than the dross that was on the pitch on Saturday, I think I may have been more vocal.

I took my grandad to the game yesterday so stood near the Ebdon stand and I thought the Drabble was pretty loud when the boys did sing. There's only a handful of people willing to start a song, so unless you are one of the few, either don't criticise or start a song yourself! Maybe having been told to calm down and occasionally patronised by other fellow supporters have had an adverse effect on the atmosphere.
Ps there was definitely not only 90 less there than there was for the Thrapston game that's for sure!!

The 'P. C. Brigade' have definitely put a downer on things. You don't want to say anything that may be deemed vaguely controversial by an over-sensitive do-gooder just in case you get a lifetime ban. Therefore, you keep your mouth shut and end up getting lambasted for that as well.TwinkleToesTomlin wrote:I took my grandad to the game yesterday so stood near the Ebdon stand and I thought the Drabble was pretty loud when the boys did sing.
