Post of this thread.
We should not be having a go at each other, we drew a game of football ffs, we didn't lose.
Come on people we do not have a divine right to win every game, give the opposition some credit. 8-)
We have only just started this journey, some people never came to watch the U18's last season, so may not understand the restrictions we had to adhere to, this season, we have to get used to having a senior team as well.
At the end of the day, all we want is for the supporters to enjoy the matchday experience, win or lose 8-) 8-)

Re: [ Sat 20th Oct ] v Burton Park Wanderers KO 3pm UCL1 HOME
I'm not aiming this at anybody inparticular, but there's something i'm seeing a lot of on this forum and it's getting my goat.
Things are consistantly being brushed off or dismissed as rubbish purely because 'we didn't have a team last season'. Perhaps i'm on my own here, but the fact we didn't have a team to support last season doesn't and shouldn't prevent people from simply telling the truth.
Could you imagine if Starms had have come out and suggested in his interview that Saturday's performance was OK because we didn't have a team to support last season? Or if Dev said "Oh well, at least the fans have got a team to support now". I'd like to think most of us would be concerned.
The team have set high standards so far this season and I don't think anybody can complain about how things have gone as a whole, it's been great and i've enjoyed it more than I ever thought possible, but on Saturday the manager and players have acknowledged that they fell well short of that level and as paying customers people have a right to be disappointed.
Hopefully we win tomorrow night and every remaining game this season so I don't have to hear this cliche spewed time and time again. ;)

Have a word with yourself!Three Nips wrote:The 'P. C. Brigade' have definitely put a downer on things. You don't want to say anything that may be deemed vaguely controversial by an over-sensitive do-gooder just in case you get a lifetime ban. Therefore, you keep your mouth shut and end up getting lambasted for that as well.
So you're not able to sing "Come on Rushden" because you're scared someone is going to ban you.
Do me a favour.
As for the rest of this thread, some of the criticism on here makes me feel sick. Draw a football match and all of a sudden all these people come out of the woodwork to criticise everything from the ground, to the pitch, the burger bar, the players and even their own fellow supporters. We are not going to win every game and yes not everything is perfect, but there are people working very hard at the club to correct almost everything that has been criticised over the past 14 pages. It takes time though and won't all happen overnight.
I'm as dissapointed as the next person with the performance and result but that's football. We move on and to put positive slant on things its better to have a wake-up call by drawing with Burton than it would be to scrape a win against them and then get the wake-up call against Bugbrooke.
I also completely agree that we need to sort the atmosphere. With that in mind I am going to stand at the back of the DeBanke in the middle tomorrow and sing my head off for 90 minutes. I hope that some of you can join me.
